Job description

As a Senior Manager in Employee Relations, you will serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership and People Business Partners (PBPs), providing expert guidance and proactive solutions to foster a positive and productive work environment. You will be instrumental in interpreting and applying company policies, managing complex employee relations issues, and ensuring fair and consistent practices across the organization. Furthermore, you will lead and develop the Employee Relations team, empowering them to effectively address employee concerns and contribute to a positive workplace culture. This senior role requires deep expertise in employee relations principles, employment law, risk management, and team leadership, along with a strong ability to influence, mediate, drive proactive employee relations strategies, and derive actionable insights to inform future training initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and People Business Partners on a wide range of complex employee relations matters, including performance management concerns, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
  • Proactively identify and analyze employee relations trends and potential risks, developing and implementing strategies and interventions to mitigate these risks and foster a positive employee experience.
  • Lead and develop the Employee Relations team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Lead and manage complex employee investigations, ensuring thoroughness, impartiality, and adherence to legal and company policy requirements. Provide recommendations and implement appropriate resolutions.
  • Partner with Employment Legal and People Business Partners to interpret and apply employment laws across our geographies, ensuring company policies and practices are compliant and up-to-date.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain employee relations policies and procedures that are fair, consistent, and aligned with the company’s values and legal requirements in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide expert guidance and coaching to managers and employees on effective communication, conflict resolution, and performance management practices to build a positive and productive work environment.
  • Collaborate with the broader People team, including People Business Partners, Employment Legal, and Ethics, to ensure a consistent and integrated approach to people-related matters.
  • Lead the development and implementation of proactive employee relations initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement, reducing workplace conflict, and fostering a positive organizational culture.
  • Analyze employee relations data, investigation outcomes, and feedback to identify key trends, systemic issues, and recurring themes. Surface these insights to relevant stakeholders, including People Business Partners and Learning & Development, to inform the development of future training and preventative measures.
  • Manage and resolve employee grievances and complaints in a timely and effective manner, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
  • Partner with the business during organizational changes, such as restructurings or reductions in force, to provide employee relations expertise and ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policy.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee relations records and documentation in accordance with legal and company requirements.

What We Look For

  • Strong expertise in developing and implementing employee relations policies and procedures.
  • Exceptional business acumen with the ability to understand the impact of employee relations on business objectives.
