Sol de Janeiro is looking for a Senior Manager, Social Media—a hybrid social & creative strategist.  This candidate is a sharp, culturally fluent thinker who blends storytelling, strategy, and social instinct to drive our brand’s narrative forward and innovate across platforms. This role sits within Sol de Janeiro’s dynamic Global Content & Brand Experience team, reporting to the Director of Social Media, Content & Community.

You have a natural understanding of what makes social great- and will be the architect of the SDJ story across all platforms. You will lead building out the content pillars, campaign narratives and real-time moments that put us at the forefront of culture, engage and audiences and build a forever-community. You understand how to translate insight into impact - ensuring we show up with voice, vision and a consistent vibe.

You’re equal parts planner and big-idea generator. You have an eye for trends before they pop, a love of narratives that stick, and the creative range to move from reactive TikToks to multi-week campaigns. You have an editorial POV, a love of content that connects, and a brain that sees both the big picture and the daily rhythm. Whether it’s a hero campaign, a community moment, or a reactive trend - you know how to brief talent, shape creative direction, and drive ideas from “what if” to “that’s a hit.”

What You’ll Do

  • Engage our communities across all platforms, bringing the Sol de Janeiro brand to life on social and throughout on-the-ground content

  • Lead the development of SDJ’s social editorial calendar and platform-specific storytelling strategies in partnership with Director of Social Media, Content & Community

  • Act as the team’s internal creative strategist—bridging brand goals with social behavior, trends, and visual storytelling

  • Concept, shape and lead the vision for content that supports always-on storytelling, brand and product campaigns and opportunistic socially native moments

  • Write clear, compelling briefs for creators, freelancers, and cross-functional partners—bridging brand needs with creative opportunity

  • Identify new content and platform opportunities based on market trends and dynamics to keep the brand fresh, relevant and culturally aligned

  • Collaborate closely with Social Creators, the Community team, and Influencer & Brand Experience partners to ensure cohesion and creative consistency – maximizing and enhancing our social footprint

  • Participate in consumer marketing and creative brainstorms, campaign development, and creative reviews—bringing POV, polish, and big-picture thinking

  • Partner with regional teams to support global storytelling and content moments on our channels – showcasing IRL moments to foster trust, build communities worldwide and highlight our brands power to live beyond the screen

  • Own social reporting - leveraging qualitative and quantitative metrics to glean meaningful insights that will inform actionable strategies

What You Bring

  • 5–7 years of experience in social strategy, creative strategy, editorial content, or digital brand storytelling for a brand, publisher or agency.

  • A portfolio of platform-native work or campaign ideas that show originality, cultural awareness, and creative thinking, with a strong fluency short form content, with long form as a plus

  • Deep platform knowledge and cultural fluency—especially on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.

  • A passion for culture – a pulse on emerging trends, media and cultural landscape now as well as what’s next

  • Strong understanding of platform-native storytelling and editorial voice.

  • A sharp editorial POV and a passion for crafting narratives that stick.

  • Proven experience translating brand goals into social-first concepts and content.

  • Strong writing, briefing, and communication skills—able to inspire and collaborate across teams.

  • Exceptional communication skills—you’re as comfortable writing a killer brief as you are pitching a bold new idea.

  • Comfortable being a change agent and implementing new ways of working in a rapidly growing team and organization

  • Collaboration is paramount, working with cross-functional teams, dreaming and executing big is where you thrive

Salary Range

$115,000—$125,000 USD
