***This is a 12-month contract role with potential for full-time conversion. This is a hybrid position (onsite and remote), with work locations available in Minneapolis, MN and Nashville, TN. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship.***

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain high-impact software applications and platforms. This hands-on role involves close collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders to develop scalable, data-driven tools that solve complex problems. You’ll also help guide our engineering practices, mentor junior developers, and contribute to the integration of emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning.

Primary Duties

  • Develop and maintain robust, scalable web applications and APIs

  • Integrate AI/ML tools, including large language models and generative AI to improve analytics and automation

  • Translate complex business requirements into practical and elegant technical solutions

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams

  • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in software development

  • Review and test code to maintain high standards of quality and reliability

  • Support and enhance an existing suite of production applications

  • Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies, especially in AI/ML and cloud services

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field

  • 7+ years of experience developing and deploying web applications

  • Proficiency in Python (version 3.11 preferred); React experience is a plus

  • Experience with RESTful API development using frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI

  • Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), including schema design and optimization

  • Familiarity with AI/ML models or a demonstrated interest in applying AI technologies

  • Experience with Docker and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)

  • Strong communication skills and a track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams

  • Experience leading technical projects and mentoring others

Nice to Have

  • Masterโ€™s degree in a technical or quantitative field

  • Background in data engineering, ETL, or real-time data processing

  • Familiarity with tools in our stack: PostgreSQL, Flask, FastAPI, React, Docker, Redis, CircleCI, Pandas, Numpy, AWS Lambdas

  • Experience in regulated or data-intensive industries

  • Contributions to open-source projects or published work in AI, ML, or developer tools
