What are we looking for?

We’re excited to expand our new team with passionate and skilled backend engineers, who are interested in solving non-trivial scale and data problems with a unique blending of cloud, cybersecurity, distributed systems, and software optimisation techniques and services. On our team you will be key to improving the day-to-day experience of threat investigators & cyber analysts around the world by giving them new “Security Graph” ways to view, interpret, and take action on security data.

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for building these new features of our AI SIEM product, that underpins the core value we bring to our customers - who want to be protected and understand the signal we extract from the noise for them - from the ~3 trillion events & several Petabytes of ingested data, processed every day by our Security Data Lake. You will interact with engineers in and across the org, tech leads, architects, product management, sales, and marketing.

Your tools: Java (new codebase 6-12 months); Go; Kubernetes, Docker, AWS/GCP cloud & related data services (e.g. S3/GCS, SQS/PubSub, PostgreSQL/RDS/CloudSQL); Cassandra; DataSet.com, Kafka, Redis; GitHub

What will you do?

  • Software Development (70-80% of your time; primarily Java)

Dive deep into coding, turning innovative specs into reality. Write robust tests, tackle bugs with finesse, and ensure top-notch security in your code. - Leadership and Collaboration

Lead technical initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams. - Code Review

Champion code quality, security, and efficiency. Your keen eye for detail will guide you in reviewing and elevating our codebase. - Generate Technical Specifications

Drive architectural decisions and provide technical guidance in the development of solutions. Articulate the rationale behind your technical choices and document key implementation details. Engage in thoughtful discussions, providing and receiving insightful feedback on specifications. - Support and On-Call Rotation

Be a problem-solver. Respond to and troubleshoot outage incidents, and address security issues promptly. - Team Collaboration

Be a team player. Assist your colleagues, share constructive feedback, and contribute to our weekly syncs and daily Slack standups.

What skills and knowledge should you bring?

  • Solid computer science/software engineering/similar background with multiple years of practical engineering experience.
  • Proven expertise in designing and operating distributed systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Java (multiple years of handson experience).
  • You value elegant code that is concise and readable.
  • Have you used tools like Jenkins, Helm, Docker? Do you have infrastructure experience with AWS, GCP, K8s, etc? Experience with Go? Great, that helps!
