What are we looking for?
We are establishing a new backend-focused team within the Collection Engineering Group. This team will lead all backend operations for the group, with a strong emphasis on our RemoteOps product—SentinelOne’s command-and-control platform for managing endpoints, executing scripts remotely, and collecting forensic data.
As part of this team, you will play a key role in orchestrating end-to-end workflows used by incident response teams. This includes deploying services in Kubernetes, collecting and managing forensic data, leveraging Kafka for data enrichment and movement, and building systems to support high-scale operational demands.
We are hiring four backend engineers to form the foundation of this new team. This is an exciting opportunity to be among the first backend specialists in the group.
What will you do?
We are seeking an experienced backend engineer to join us as one of the founding members of this new team. In this role, you will:
Build and evolve the backend systems that power RemoteOps and other collection workflows
Lead technical projects from design to deployment
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (agent, frontend, security research)
Take ownership of complex challenges and deliver robust, high-performance solutions
This role offers the opportunity to shape a new team, drive architectural decisions, and have a significant impact on SentinelOne’s core security platform.
Key technologies: Python, Kubernetes, Kafka, AWS, GCP
Requirements:
- At least 4+ years of backend development
- Experience with high-performance micro-services-based backend systems
- Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages in a backend environment: Python.
- Experience developing cloud-native solutions and data pipelines
- Experience working with databases (both SQL and NOSQL)
- Experience working with Dockers and Kubernetes.
- Experience with AWS, GCP or other cloud platforms
- Strong capability to design a solution according to product requirements
- Great communication skills and ability to work in hybrid and\or remote teams and lead projects
- Proven experience with developing unit\component tests as part of the development process
Any of these would be an additional plus:
- Experience working with Kafka ecosystem (pub/sub, Kafka connect, etc.)
- Experience with large scale management systems and performance.
- Experience with Terraform / Terragrunt
- Experience with Rust, C++, Java, C# or Similar.
