Job description

About the team

The Advanced Architecture team is a highly strategic group within HashiCorp focused on defining and executing the most technically complex and impactful go-to-market plays across the HashiCorp and IBM portfolios. Comprised of senior technical leaders, this team operates as a technical innovation hub. Through cross functional collaboration and consultative engagement, we work backwards from our customers’ hardest challenges to drive integrated solutions that unlock transformational value.

Our initial focus is on enabling joint customer success through the integrations with IBM Hybrid Cloud, Security and AI solutions. Over time, this team will define and deliver scalable field plays and reference architectures that span the full HashiCorp portfolio and evolving IBM ecosystem, including RedHat hybrid cloud offerings.

What you’ll do (responsibilities)

As a Sr. Solution Architect Specialist, you will contribute to strategic technical initiatives that drive innovation and market impact across HashiCorp and IBM’s integration opportunities. You will operate as a technical contributor and emerging leader, working closely with senior Solution Architect Specialists and Strategists to prototype integrated solutions, support product strategy development, and create reusable content that powers our Sales, SE, and Partner communities.

In this role, you will:

  • Support Strategic GTM Plays: Contribute to the development and execution of go-to-market motions that solve real-world customer problems and showcase the power of HashiCorp and IBM solutions working together.
  • Design Technical Solutions: Develop reference architectures, implementation frameworks, and validated integrations across multi-cloud, hybrid, and mainframe environments under guidance from senior team members.
  • Execute Cross-functional Collaboration: Work effectively across Product, Sales, Engineering, Marketing, and Partner teams to support execution of integration and GTM initiatives.
  • Provide Technical Guidance: Serve as a technical resource to field teams, partners, and customers—providing guidance on solution design, enterprise architecture, and implementation best practices.
  • Contribute to Innovation: Identify emerging market trends, integration patterns, and enterprise requirements to support HashiCorp product strategy and roadmap alignment with IBM initiatives.
  • Develop Technical Assets: Create technical content including reference architectures, solution briefs, implementation guides, and documentation that enable scale and support technical leadership.
  • Support Product Strategy: Gather market signals and customer feedback to contribute to product strategy discussions and development roadmaps, particularly for enterprise-scale implementations and multi-product integrations.
  • Enable Teams and Partners: Provide technical support across the Solutions Architecture and SE organizations; participate in internal communities of practice and contribute to reusable playbooks.
  • Technical Advocacy: Participate in technical thought leadership through blog posts, technical presentations, and strategic customer engagements.
  • Drive Customer Outcomes: Work with stakeholders to support transformation success criteria and help demonstrate measurable business impact from integrated solutions.

What you’ll need (basic qualifications)

  • 5+ years in enterprise architecture, technical consulting, or solutions engineering roles
  • 2+ years leading technical initiatives or contributing to cross-functional teams
  • Experience with technical integration efforts across multiple vendors or enterprise portfolios
  • Demonstrated success working on go-to-market initiatives for technical solutions

Technical Leadership & Strategy:

  • Proven ability to contribute to technical strategy development and execution
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in matrix organizations and influence through technical credibility
  • Experience contributing to complex technical projects with multiple stakeholders

HashiCorp Expertise:

  • Hands-on experience architecting and delivering solutions using at least two HashiCorp products (Vault, Terraform, Consul, Nomad)
  • Understanding of multi-product integrations and enterprise-scale implementations
  • Experience with HashiCorp products in production environments

Integration & Infrastructure Depth:

  • Experience with modern infrastructure tooling and enterprise integration patterns
  • Practical experience with cloud and on-premise infrastructure, automation, and platform operations
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture principles and design patterns

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across Product, Engineering, and Sales teams
  • Skilled in translating customer needs into technical requirements and solutions
  • Experience working effectively in cross-functional project teams

Communication & Enablement:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience developing technical documentation and solution materials
  • Ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences

Travel: Ability to travel as needed, including international engagements for strategic customers and partner alignment.

What’s nice to have (preferred qualifications)

  • Experience with IBM Z, RedHat OpenShift, or other IBM hybrid cloud technologies
  • Background in technical evangelism, solutions engineering, or customer-facing technical roles
  • Deep understanding of security and compliance frameworks in enterprise infrastructure
