Summary
Reporting to the Team Manager, General Ledger, the Staff Accountant will be primarily responsible for working cross-functionally with Accounting Department team members to assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
Responsibilities
More specifically, you will participate in the following:
- Month-end close responsibilities (preparing journal entries, bank reconciliations, various accruals, depreciation, and amortization);
- Participate in the month-end process by generating various business and operational reports;
- Prepare weekly cash flow tables;
- Assist with auditor requests;
- Research and respond to ad hoc information requests;
- Participate in and assist with the preparation of the year-end audit file;
- Occasionally support the Accounts Payable and Billing departments with month-end tasks.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Accounting required;
- CPA designation is a strong asset.
Main Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of experience in accounting or finance within a medium-sized company;
- Experience with financial systems (MS Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus);
- Experience with the full month-end cycle;
- Experience in financial reporting is a plus;
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus;
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through;
- Strong Excel skills (SUMIFS, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.);
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills;
- Excellent level of English (written and spoken);
- Good level of French (written and spoken) is a plus;
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects;
- Ability to perform under pressure;
- Self-motivated with strong initiative and a proven track record of meeting deadlines;
- Proactive in problem-solving;
- Comfortable with constant change;
- Team player with a collaborative mindset.
Working Conditions
- Regular working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM;
- Remote position; however, candidates must reside in Montreal or the surrounding area;
- Occasional on-site presence required, particularly during training or for in-person meetings.
