A nationally recognized law firm leveraging technology to serve financial institutions is seeking a Supervising Attorney to lead their remote Michigan legal team. This leadership role blends operational oversight with litigation strategy, offering a unique opportunity to influence outcomes in foreclosure and civil litigation matters while mentoring legal professionals across multiple jurisdictions.
What Youβll Do as the Supervising Attorney:
- Lead a team of attorneys and legal professionals across foreclosure and civil litigation practices
- Oversee legal compliance with FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and servicer/investor guidelines
- Manage P&L responsibilities, department forecasting, and operational performance
- Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and trials as needed
- Collaborate with leadership across departments including Litigation, Title, Bankruptcy, HR, and IT
- Develop and implement internal policies, training, and strategic goals
- Participate in client presentations and business development initiatives
Must-Haves as the Supervising Attorney:
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active Michigan law license
- Minimum 8 yearsβ experience in litigation and default services (foreclosure, title, bankruptcy, evictions, REO)
- Demonstrated experience managing legal teams and departmental budgets
- Strong legal writing, courtroom, and case management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal practice software
Nice-to-Haves as the Supervising Attorney:
- Additional licensure in MI, SC, AL, GA, or TN
- Experience presenting at legal or industry events
- Comfort with remote team management and cross-functional collaboration
- Business development or client-facing experience in a legal services environment
