Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company (‘Versant’) comprised of most of NBCUniversal’s cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

The Technology Communications and Change Manager for Versant will support the technology strategy lifecycles efforts for technology communications management activities. This includes partnering on select enterprise reaching programs to act as the Communications practitioner to apply Communications and Change frameworks to develop individual, project, or program plans, copy refinement, and distribution for enterprise technology communications. Additionally, they will collaborate with a cross-functional department and business communicator community to plan message delivery from the appropriate “trusted voice” and channel to increase the intended audiences’ awareness, desire, and ability to adopt the initiative through measurable adoption standards.

This candidate will liaise with various leads to advance knowledge programs such as a centralized end-user technology intranet and knowledge base, etc. Additionally, they will leverage a core adoption toolset focused on communication and knowledge capabilities that enable consistent application of transformative adoption practices with key sponsor and stakeholder groups. The candidate will develop, executive, and reinforce communication workshops to expand standard communication methodology that supports technology adoption across the Technology organization. These consistent practices focus on maximizing employees’ awareness, understanding and usage of new technologies while minimizing audience change resistance.

In this role, we will win together, work through solutions, and align goals for the best outcome for Versant and its family of brands.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply communications standards that are aligned with the change strategies with sponsor and stakeholder managers, as well as promote end-users embedding and adopting new systems and processes.
  • Advise partners (e.g. product and project managers, business stakeholders) about communication methodology and practices to embed technology adoption and knowledge activities into implementation plans.
  • Partner with the Operations & Technology leadership, Project Management Office (PMO), and key stakeholders to define and reinforce communication success metrics to drive consistency across IT.
  • Empower communications community and increase success with the change management network by applying and reinforcing standard communication practices with local change agents and influence groups to embed alternative communication methods (e.g., non-email).
  • Use written and verbal communications skills via a mixed media approach to increase audience awareness.
  • Engage in active listening & translation of complex technical topics into simplified messages for a variety of audiences.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships, as well as influence others to move toward a shared vision or goal together.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (in an art or design related field preferred)
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in Change Management
  • Expert knowledge of visual, typographic, grid system, and data visualization design principles
  • Expertise in illustration and motion graphics
  • Excellent sense of color, scale, harmony, balance, and use of negative space.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite visual design software
  • Experience in the full suite of Microsoft Office programs including advanced experience in PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into simplified universally understood concepts to accelerate the adoption of workplace technologies
  • Ability to expedite the creative process by understanding the stakeholder needs and soliciting quick feedback in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to articulate and justify design decisions to people without a design background
  • Ability to efficiently manage assigned tasks amidst changing priorities
  • Online portfolio that demonstrates your problem-solving abilities which could include mobile and web applications, infographics, print pieces and presentations

  • Possess a forward-looking, holistic approach and a resilient and tenacious mindset with a propensity to persevere.
  • Ability to stay organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics.
  • Skills in problem-solving and root cause identification.
  • Acute business awareness and understanding of organizational issues and challenges.

  • Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.

Salary range: $95,000 - $125,000 (bonus eligible)
