POSITION SUMMARY

We’re on a mission to reinvent the financial system and make it work for people. We are looking for an experienced professional to lead a full-stack engineering team comprising backend and mobile engineers.

We have a top-tier team of engineers and leaders who have worked for prominent tech companies, including Meta, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Google, Uber, and Dropbox. As a hands-on Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to designing and developing some of our early-stage innovative products (0-1). You will work with your cross-functional partners and team to shape the direction of these products and contribute to making them significant drivers for the company.

This position will ideally be hybrid from our Mexico City office as part of our expanding site, though a remote arrangement is possible. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Be a strong partner to product and other engineering teams to drive improvements to business metrics and build new features. Examples include improving user acquisition metrics, cross-selling and upselling products, and enhancing the overall user experience.
  • Drive the design and implementation of new product areas and features. Break down complex problems into their bare essentials, translate this complexity into elegant design, and create high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Guide your team through ambiguity and ensure technical excellence through rapid experimentation cycles.
  • Guide your team to strong execution — make pragmatic decisions and help teams launch MVPs quickly, iterating based on feedback.
  • Lead team through frequent pivots and evolving priorities in a fast-changing environment.
  • Recruit other exceptional engineers for your team and assist with recruiting efforts for various teams.
  • Be a mentor and coach for the engineers on your team. Help them advance their careers by enabling them to do their best work.
  • Manage cross-functional relationships with all teams to deliver high-quality products.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years leading a small team in an IC leadership or EM capacity.
  • You’re just as energized diving into architecture, writing clean and scalable code, and solving challenging technical problems as you’re mentoring engineers, shaping team culture, and driving delivery. You know when to roll up your sleeves and when to empower others—and you’re equally excited to do both.
  • You can work comfortably with a cross-functional team of PMs, Analysts, and mobile and back-end-focused engineers.
  • You have led a team that consistently produced high-quality output, in addition to critical infrastructure.
  • You are a creative, tenacious problem solver with a get-it-done attitude
  • You tend to be the standard bearer who takes a great deal of pride in your work and can inspire others to rise to the occasion
  • You can create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment in which everyone is supported, encouraged, and meaningfully challenged to do great work
