You’ll work closely with technical leads, product managers, and customer-facing teams to manage software backlogs, define user stories, and ensure development priorities are clear, actionable, and aligned with scientific and business goals. This is a highly collaborative and delivery-focused role at the core of our product development process.

This position can be remote or on-site. If remote, travel to the headquarters in San Diego, CA will be required at least quarterly.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Translate high-level requirements from the product team, scientists, and customers into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Contribute to product-level strategy sessions and quarterly planning reviews.
  • Act as the primary interface with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, and agile ceremonies across multiple scrum teams.
  • Ensure product features are delivered on time and aligned with business and user needs.
  • Attend core team meetings and customer debriefs to ensure continuous feedback and context are integrated into the roadmap.
  • Partner with technical leads and the product team to assess risks, trade-offs and mitigations, refine priorities, and maintain alignment across product iterations.
  • Ensure complete feature delivery includes appropriate documentation and training materials availability for internal and external users.
  • Help drive clarity and decision-making within an Agile environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience as a technical product manager, product owner, or similar role.
  • Background in both software development and scientific domains (e.g., life sciences, diagnostics, healthcare, bioinformatics).
  • Proven ability to write clear requirements and manage software development backlogs.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies; familiarity with Scrum and/or SAFe is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working across multiple scrum teams and bridging between product, engineering, and customer-facing functions.
  • Hands-on familiarity with software tools like Jira, Confluence, and/or GitHub.
  • Experience supporting regulated software development (e.g., CLIA, FDA, ISO) is a plus.

The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $136,800 - $188,00.
