Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company (‘Versant’) comprised of most of NBCUniversal’s cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
Join Versant’s Business Product and Operations division to lead strategy definition, roadmap creation, technical buildout, and execution for Versant’s product ecosystem supporting Versant’s Ad Sales and Marketing divisions, inclusive of Sales Enablement, Audience, Planning, Traffic, and Distribution across both Linear and Digital endpoints. Additionally, this role will be responsible for overseeing Versant’s centralized ad serving, integration, and certification team enabling digital advertising across all owned, and non-owned, digital products. This includes responsibilities over both supply-side and demand-side integrations to enable 1st and 3rd party programmatic advertising while ensuring premium content quality and consumer ad experience. Lastly, this leader will oversee the strategy and buildup of data analytic products to support Ad Sales and Marketing.
The candidate will be expected to understand and drive best practices and innovative approaches across advertising, ad technology, marketing, and data products, while leading a large team of product leaders to deliver on ambitious roadmaps and commitments. This role will require strong collaboration across multiple business partners ensuring clear prioritization, status, issue mitigation, multi-year strategic planning, and roadmap alignment. Additionally, as the product leader, this role will partner across the Product organization to lead build vs buy assessments, vendor selections, destination architecture creation, multi-year roadmap generation, and product development execution.
This is a truly unique role, positioned at the center of technical innovation and product development to fuel fast evolving business and commercial models.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Versant Ad Sales, Enterprise Data, Marketing, and other stakeholders, to develop a shared vision for capabilities to support business objectives
- Drive thought leadership and strategic direction on all existing products, with alignment to a destination architecture and rationalization of legacy capabilities
- Develop multi-year product roadmaps with accountability to short term, mid-term, and long-term execution and deliverables
- Build highly reliable, available, scalable, and performant products, and continuously measure and monitor KPIs to drive improvement to the development process and run state of all products
- Translate business requirements into technical product strategies, technical specifications, and designs
- Effectively identify, recruit, hire, develop, and retain talented product leaders, ultimately maintaining a performance culture grounded in inclusiveness, collaboration, expertise, accountability, and results
- Leverage Agile methodologies to ensure an iterative and incremental approach to building out destination platforms, and partner with engineering and technology leaders to drive overall software development lifecycle
- Lead the baselining of existing products and translate those features, capabilities, and requirements into destination platform inputs, in coordination with the Enterprise Technology team
- Manage the OCF and Capital budgets associated with the product portfolio, inclusive of labor costs, software licensing, hosting, maintenance/support, etc.
- Develop financial models to track product development costs and associated returns on investment based on productivity and/or business upside enablement
- Build credibility, respect, and influence across Versant by demonstrating thought leadership, product savvy, execution focus, and strong communication skills
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in technical product management, with full ownership and/or management of the product lifecycle
- 7+ years of experience with Linear or Digital Ad Sales products or technology
- 5+ years of experience in people management

- Experience supporting technology implementations (business analysis, change management, configurations)
