Founded in 2016, we provide a real-time experience platform and infrastructure for developers. Our platform powers WebSocket connections and pub/sub, handling over 2 billion devices and 30 billion connections each month. It helps developers build live experiences like chat, collaboration features, notifications, broadcasts, and fan engagement.

We offer SDKs for JavaScript, React, Python, Java, .NET, Ruby, Flutter, Objective-C, Swift, PHP, Go, and C#.NET. We also offer pre-built integrations with services like Webhooks, Lambdas, databases, cloud services, observability tools, and stream processors. These include Amazon Lambda, Azure Functions, Cloudflare Workers, Google Cloud Functions, AMQP, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon SQS, Kafka, IFTTT, Zapier, Apache Pulsar, Terraform, Datadog, and Vercel. Our platform supports MQTT and Server-Sent Events (SSE).

We maintain a 6.5ms message delivery latency and 100% uptime, a record we’ve held for seven years. Our infrastructure is designed for reliability and scale, with over 700 points of presence and 11 globally distributed regions. For enterprises, we provide ²⁴⁄₇ support, HIPAA BAA compliance, SOC II compliance, 99.999% uptime, CNAME, limitless capacity, Firehose integrations, dedicated clusters, SSO and SCIM provisioning, architectural guidance, US/EU data routing, and enterprise observability and analytics. We are SOC 2 Type 2, HIPAA, EU GDPR, ISO 27001, and PCI compliant.

We have raised $78 million in funding: $1 million in seed funding (May 2017), $7 million in Series A (April 2020), and $70 million in Series B (June 2021).

We are a remote-first company with a flexible work environment. We have between 51 and 200 employees, including our founders Matthew O’Riordan (CEO) and Dr. Paddy Byers (CTO). We offer EMI equity share options to all team members. Employees get 28 days of paid annual leave plus their birthday off, along with an enhanced parental leave package. We provide a £500 home workstation budget when you join, plus £150 annually after that. You’ll also get a £1,000 annual learning and development budget and 5% L&D time during working hours.
