The Raquel Zarin Internship Program

Our internship program honors Raquel Zarin, a beloved employee, mentor, and friend at the Ad Council. Raquel passed away in 2021, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, integrity, and excellence that continues to inspire us. She believed in nurturing young talent, fostering welcoming environments, and championing access to lifesaving resources. At the Ad Council, these are principles and values we hold and hope that our interns will embrace and carry forward throughout their careers.

The Raquel Zarin Internship Program is a remote-first engagement and will run from June 1, 2026 – August 14, 2026. All interns will be paid $19/hour and are eligible to earn overtime. Ability to work East Coast hours is required.

Job Summary

The Campaign Analytics team—part of the Ad Council’s Insights & Analytics Department—is responsible for understanding and interpreting performance of our social impact campaigns across media channels based on ad support and how effectively they drive audiences to take meaningful action. We analyze data from multiple platforms, translate findings into actionable insights, and partner with cross‑functional teams to continuously optimize campaign performance.

As an intern, you will support analytics needs across multiple campaigns while building foundational skills in insight development, data visualization, and storytelling. This role is ideal for someone curious, analytical, and passionate about using data to advance positive social impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Collect and analyze industry benchmarks to contextualize campaign KPIs and performance trends.
  • Assist in developing cross-functional evaluation plans for new campaigns and emerging initiatives.
  • Create a branded, standardized presentation template for campaign performance reporting, including background slides and reference materials.
  • Support analysis of our first campaign‑based AI chatbot, including a configuration audit, performance readouts, and recommendations for future enhancements.
  • Document key workflows and methodologies used in campaign analysis and reporting to support team knowledge‑
  • Collaborate with the full intern cohort to identify a future social issue for the Ad Council to address. Together, you will research, concept, and present a campaign proposal to Ad Council staff at the end of the program.

What You Bring

  • A curious learner with a concentration in the social sciences, communications or non-profit marketing & advertising.
  • A strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience using data to tell a story; familiarity with website analytics is a plus.
  • A curious, problem‑solving orientation, always seeking the “why” behind results.
  • Ability to interpret and visualize data clearly; excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong organization and time‑management skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Qualities of a Strong Candidate

  • Familiarity with website analytics platforms, (e.g. Google Analytics, Looker Studio)
  • Experience with data visualization and/or BI tools (e.g., Tableau)

What we’re committed to:

At the Ad Council, we value and celebrate the unique characteristics and perspectives that make each person who they are. Fostering a welcoming environment allows us to enhance and reimagine how we reach our audiences. It is not simply our belief, but our duty, to cultivate a team that is representative of the American people. Only then can we drive true, measurable, and life-changing impact on the most important issues facing our country today.
