The Community You Will Join:

Community Support (CS) has increasingly become a key driver of enabling Airbnb’s core business. Community Support Engineering is responsible for the world-class technology, architecture, and solutions that power CS at Airbnb. The products and capabilities we build empower our guests and hosts, CS agents, and operations teams around the world. As a member of CSP in China, you will have a great opportunity to make lasting impacts on the Airbnb CS user experience.

The Difference You Will Make:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer who is passionate about making a difference through their work. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work in a global collaboration environment and lead the project execution for better Airbnb customers and agents experience. You will develop and evolve CS engineering foundations with long term strategies, such as core CS data service, supervisor platform, and foundational toolings etc. You will be expected with AI/ML/LLM project experience to level up and enhance CS engineering foundations AI capabilities with more intelligences, given Airbnb and CSP’s increasing focus on AI-driven solutions.

A Typical Day:

  • Work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering counterparts to execute on product and business strategy to build novel products and features
  • Drive, lead, and contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch. You’ll be reviewing code and design docs, giving feedback on product specs and mocks.
  • Discuss and align technical specifications and implementation details with other engineers, including cross-team engineers.
  • Bring flexibility to collaboration with design and product partners by presenting tradeoffs and iterating to the ideal solution.
  • Write clean, testable and maintainable code to implement the features
  • Perform tech design and code reviews and advice/mentor other engineers
  • When you are the POC of the projects, drive the delivery, communicate the status to stakeholders and ensure the overall quality
  • Advocate and participate in efforts to advance Airbnb’s engineering processes and technical foundations.
  • Provide critical input in team roadmap and technical direction.

Your Expertise:

  • 6+ years of industry experience
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in at least one major programming language (such as Java/Kotlin).
  • Experience in building large and scalable systems, such as high-traffic systems, big volume data processing etc.
  • Ability to evaluate technical approaches and design product solutions to solve real-world problems.
  • Mentorship to junior developers
  • Fluent communication in both English and Chinese.

Your Location:

This position is China - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. Your recruiter will inform you what cities you are able to work from depending on your personal legal working identity and Airbnb internal policies.
