We are looking for an experienced QA leader who balances strategic planning with technical execution. As QA Manager, you will lead our quality engineering practices, develop solutions, guide our team, and directly contribute to the quality of our digital products and services.

You will establish and maintain a proactive quality culture within our engineering teams, ensuring our deliveries are functional, accessible, performant, and secure. ROLE REQUIREMENTS

This role includes both strategic leadership and direct technical contribution.

  • Develop & Evolve QA Strategy: Define and update a comprehensive quality assurance strategy, roadmap, and best practices that align with AKQA’s creative vision, client objectives, and technical standards.

  • Mentor a team of QA professionals. Support their professional growth, encourage innovation, and foster a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement.

  • Process Optimization: Drive the adoption of modern testing methodologies (e.g., test automation, performance testing, security testing, accessibility compliance) within our Agile development processes. Implement new tools and techniques to improve efficiency.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Technical Project Managers, Engineering Leads, Product Owners, and Creative teams to integrate quality early in the development lifecycle, influence technical architecture, and ensure shared quality goals across projects.

  • Quality Metrics & Reporting: Establish, monitor, and report on key quality metrics. Use data to inform decisions, identify trends, and communicate product quality status to stakeholders.

  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate quality risks throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring comprehensive test coverage for critical features and client deliverables.

  • Automation Design & Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and infrastructure for web applications, APIs, and digital services. This includes hands-on contribution to writing, optimizing, and integrating automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Specflow, GhostInspector, or similar.

  • Advanced Testing Guidance: Participate in and guide complex testing efforts, including performance testing (e.g., JMeter), security testing, accessibility testing (W3C standards), and large-scale integration testing.

  • Tooling Selection & Implementation: Evaluate, recommend, and implement new testing tools and technologies that enhance our quality engineering capabilities.

  • Experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering roles, with a focus on web applications and digital services.

  • Experience mentoring QA teams, with a record of developing talent and improving quality practices.

  • Demonstrable expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks using tools like Selenium, Specflow, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.

  • Extensive experience with functional, integration, cross-browser, and accessibility (W3C standards) testing.

  • Curiosity into the world of AI and how and in what role QA engineering plays.

  • Understanding of performance testing principles and experience with tools

  • Familiarity with security testing concepts and methodologies.

  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Knowledge of CMS-based applications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts and quality strategies to diverse audiences.

  • Experience working within a digital agency environment.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS).

  • Danish language skills.
