About the Role
As a Senior Developer on our Clinical Platform team, you’ll play a key role in building high-quality, performant features that solve real client problems and scale over time. You’ll be deeply involved in scoping and sequencing technical work, exploring solutions, evaluating tradeoffs, and making thoughtful decisions that balance short-term delivery with long-term maintainability.
You’ll bring strong critical-thinking skills and a solution-oriented mindset to both your individual contributions and your influence across the team. With a focus on continuous delivery, monitoring, and technical excellence, you’ll help ensure that what we build not only works today, but continues to deliver value as our platform grows.
This role supports the development of next-generation clinical features that enable safe, effective, and compliant home care — directly impacting clinicians and patient outcomes.
What You’ll Do
Build high-quality, performant features that our clients love to use
Design, code, test, and debug complex software as a full-time member of a development team
Participate in code reviews to improve component reuse, extensibility, maintainability, and scalability
Contribute to product-wide technical initiatives and cross-team roadmap execution
Plan, implement, and execute automated tests to ensure high-quality results
Monitor applications in production and proactively identify and resolve client-impacting issues
Identify gaps in product requirements and collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to design effective solutions
Help teammates understand core technical concepts and tools
Anticipate risks and barriers, proactively raising concerns and proposing solutions
Participate in an on-call rotation in the future (designed to respect your time)
What You Bring to the Team
4+ years of professional software engineering experience
Degree or diploma in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
Strong development experience with Python and JavaScript (Vue preferred) and associated testing frameworks
Experience working with SQL databases and writing performance-optimized queries
Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD tools, Docker, SQLAlchemy, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
A passion for quality — from clean code to clear documentation
Proven ability to make sound technical decisions in ambiguous situations
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
Strong collaboration and communication skills in written and spoken English, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences

Location and Work Model
This role is based in the Greater Montreal Area. At AlayaCare, our hybrid model includes set in-office collaboration days, and it is expected that team members are present in the office on those days to foster connection, innovation, and teamwork.
