Job Description

Hybrid, SF Bay Area Based (PST working hours) | Supply Chain, Planning | Reports to: Director, Product Planning

Who is Allbirds?

At Allbirds, we believe in using business as a force for good. We’re a global footwear and apparel brand with roots in New Zealand and headquarters in San Francisco. Since 2016, we’ve been on a mission to prove that comfort, design, and sustainability aren’t mutually exclusive. Our commitment to creating better things in a better way is fueled by a belief that the fashion industry needs to focus less on flash and more on thoughtfulness. We’re a certified B Corporation, meaning we meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. We’re dedicated to making the most sustainable products we can using premium natural materials - designed for life’s everyday adventures. In fact, TIME 100 named us for being one of the most innovative companies, calling our first shoe, the Wool Runners, the most comfortable in the world, and there is much more to come.

We take our craft seriously, but not ourselves. As part of the Allbirds family, you can look forward to team lunches, product tests, fun company events, inspiring guest speakers, comfortable shoes, sheep puns, and lots of creative ideas.

General

As a key member of the Product Planning team, you will drive multi-channel growth by balancing new product introductions with strategic inventory investment. You will be responsible for optimizing demand and inventory across the end-to-end supply chain to maximize both top-line revenue and bottom-line profitability.

Who You Are

You are a highly analytical professional, comfortable working with large datasets and moving seamlessly from high-level strategy to granular execution. You thrive at the intersection of planning and operations and possess the communication skills necessary to influence cross-functional partners and provide data-driven insights to executive leadership. You love to use your analytical skills to take actionable insights to drive the business forward.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Visibility

  • Executive Reporting: Participate in weekly and monthly business reviews, presenting performance metrics and strategic recommendations to the executive leadership team.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with Merchandising, Marketing, and Channel leads to ensure inventory investments mirror seasonal strategies.

Planning & Forecasting

  • Omnichannel Demand: Manage global supply planning and North American demand plans across E-commerce and Amazon.
  • Reforecasting: Oversee monthly re-forecasting and open-to-buy (OTB) processes to ensure the business hits sales and gross margin targets.
  • Launch Management: Orchestrate inventory and supply plans for new product launches and high-impact promotional campaigns.
  • Pre-Season Strategy: Lead pre-season forecasting and develop comprehensive revenue and inventory models to guide the fiscal year.

Supply Chain & Operations

  • End-to-End Inventory: Manage all U.S. inventory flow, accounting for factory capacity, Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs), and supply chain constraints.
  • Order Placement: Oversee purchase order placement and collaborate with warehousing and logistics to ensure readiness for projected unit sales. This includes US DCT orders and all international/wholesale orders.
  • Global Production: Partner with Asia-based factories and international teams to resolve production bottlenecks and ensure supply chain agility.
  • Logistics Alignment: Coordinate with warehousing and logistics teams to ensure infrastructure readiness for projected unit sales.

Performance Analytics

  • Data-Driven Insights: Analyze large datasets to provide actionable insights that inform high-stakes business decisions.
  • Reporting Tools:Establish and maintain reporting tools to monitor product readiness, post-launch performance, and service levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and equivalent relevant experience.
  • 4-6 years of progressive experience in inventory, merchandise, or demand planning, preferably in the apparel or footwear industry.
  • High level of proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
  • Proven track record in product lifecycle management, from initial buy planning to end-of-life clearance strategies.
  • Experience overseeing purchase order placement and factory management.
  • Ability to partner with internal teams to manage pricing, margin targets, and in-season adjustments.
  • Confident in presenting complex data-driven insights and seasonal plans to executive leadership, translating numbers into actionable business strategies.
  • A “blank canvas” thinker who thrives in ambiguity. You don’t just follow processes; you build them to increase efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to pivot between high-level strategic thinking and “in-the-weeds” attention to detail.
  • Excellent communicator and have the ability to quickly grasp new concepts while asking appropriate questions when information or instruction is not entirely clear.
  • Ability to be in the SF office for key milestone meetings throughout the month.
