💻 About the role
You’ll take ownership of a high-traffic WordPress stack that’s evolving toward a hybrid architecture. Your job is to keep the current system fast and stable while leading the gradual transition to a more modern front-end layer (React/Next.js). This is a hands-on role with leadership responsibility for a small dev team.
We work in a product space where gaming, blockchain data, and high-scale user experience intersect. The work calls for systems thinking and curiosity about how things fit together. We’re also looking for someone who actively leverages modern AI tooling in development and is able to help establish those workflows within the team.
The goal is not only to ensure WordPress runs optimally, but to shape how the overall platform evolves technologically over the coming years.
👩💻 What You’ll Be Doing
Own the technical direction of our WordPress stack, ensuring stability, scalability, and site performance.
Improve stability, performance, caching, and deployment workflows.
Define coding standards, code review practices, and basic automated testing.
Architect and document interfaces between WordPress and React/Next.js components.
Lead incremental transition to a hybrid stack (not a full rebuild).
Ensure technical SEO remains intact during changes.
Plan and oversee development work with Product and Design teams.
Mentor developers and help shape team structure over time.
Requirements
🧠 Your Attitude & Background
Strong experience operating large-scale WordPress environments (not brochure sites).
Solid skills in PHP 8, JS, MySQL, caching layers, and scalable hosting setups.
Experience with modern JS frameworks (React/Next.js).
Ability to balance legacy stability with pragmatic modernization.
Comfortable leading small teams and enforcing technical discipline.
Familiar with technical SEO considerations.
Comfortable working in a product space that blends crypto, iGaming, and on-chain analytics.
Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools to accelerate work in a disciplined way.
✔️ Nice to have
Experience with headless or hybrid WordPress architectures.
CI/CD, staging parity, and QA workflow setup experience.
Interest in data transparency, fairness mechanics, probabilistic systems, or on-chain analysis.
