Online game developer and publisher, offering the World Engine SDK for blockchain game development.

About Argus Labs

Founded in 2022, we develop and publish online games. We build online games by applying research in distributed systems and game design.

Our main product is the World Engine, a sharded rollup SDK. It uses a new Layer 2 sharding architecture that lets developers build scalable blockchains for their games, while maintaining the security of the underlying Layer 1 blockchain. The World Engine is EVM-compatible, so it works with Ethereum wallets and tools, and is designed for building games entirely on-chain.

We have three main areas:

  • Our Research Lab develops new infrastructure, primitives, and game economy designs for the World Engine ecosystem and crypto gaming.
  • Our Game Studio develops games using the World Engine stack, such as Dark Frontier, a fully on-chain, zero-knowledge space conquest MMORTS.
  • Our Game Publisher division helps studios building on World Engine with infrastructure, research, and growth.

Mission & Values

Our mission is to build the “Internet of Games.” We envision a future where games are open, interoperable, and shaped by emergent gameplay.

We combine distributed systems and protocol engineering to improve how massively multiplayer online games are built, played, and extended.

Team & Culture

Our team has between 11 and 50 employees, who are crypto natives and gaming veterans. We combine applied research, first-principles reasoning, and game design to innovate in video gaming.

Our roles include Founder & CEO, Senior Game Developers, Software Engineers, UI/UX Designers, Community Manager, QA Lead, and Talent Lead.
