About the Role:
We are seeking a Basketball Tournaments Organizational Manager to drive the organization and expansion of semi-pro/amateur basketball tournaments in Serbia and potentially beyond. This role is central to building and scaling our basketball product - through both external partnerships with local organizers and the development of in-house tournaments.
The ideal candidate will have strong connections within the Serbian basketball community, enabling them to identify and secure reliable organizers who can deliver tournaments that meet BETER’s standards of integrity, fairness, and competitiveness.
This position requires a proactive and hands-on approach, combining sports domain expertise, operational management skills, and networking abilities to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality basketball events. Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, onboard, and manage external basketball organizers in Serbia and other regions.
- Evaluate and ensure organizers comply with integrity, operational, and competitive standards.
- Support the development and launch of in-house basketball tournaments where relevant.
- Build and maintain strong relationships within the Serbian basketball community to attract reliable partners.
- Oversee the operational process of tournaments from planning to execution.
- Monitor the quality and competitiveness of matches to ensure audience engagement and betting value.
- Coordinate with product, trading, and integrity teams to align tournaments with BETER’s requirements.
- Provide regular reports and recommendations for tournament improvements and scaling opportunities.
Requirements:
- Strong passion for basketball and deep understanding of the sport.
- Proven experience in sports tournament organization, operations management, or event coordination.
- Established contacts and network within the Serbian basketball ecosystem (clubs, organizers, associations).
- Experience working with external partners and ensuring compliance with operational standards.
- Knowledge of integrity principles in sports tournaments and betting.
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally when required.
- Excellent organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- English: Upper-Intermediate+.
