Bitmovinis seeking a customer-centric Senior Product Manager to lead our Live Encoding product team. We’re building the Bitmovin Video Encoding service—a cutting-edge solution powering seamless video streaming experiences for millions of users worldwide. Your Impact
You will make an impact that matters by:
- Vision and Strategy: Own and develop the product vision and strategy for the Live Encoding product, ensuring alignment with company goals, market trends, and customer feedback.
- Customer Engagement: Directly interact with customers and sales opportunities to deeply understand their needs, pain points, and use cases. Own the technical validation and integration process to ensure successful adoption of our product.
- Requirements Gathering and Prioritization: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to gather, analyze, and prioritize product requirements, translating them into actionable roadmaps.
- Product Development and Launch: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from requirement specification and design to technical implementation, launch, and go-to-market activities.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends and the competitive landscape, conducting analyses and user research to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Product Optimization: Continuously assess and enhance the product to improve user experience, adoption, and overall value.
- KPI Management: Define and own key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure product success and drive progress toward company objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work effectively with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and other teams to ensure successful product development and launch.
What can you bring
- Extensive product management experience in product management, ideally in the streaming media industry, with a focus on SaaS products and customer-facing responsibilities.
- Solid technical understanding of product architecture, enabling effective collaboration with engineering teams, and the ability to guide customers through technical integrations.
- Proven ability to work effectively with engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate ideas and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to think strategically and translate market insights into actionable product strategies.
- Experience working with OKRs and KPIs to drive product success.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
Desirable:
- Experience in the online video streaming industry.
- Understanding of H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC and AV1 codecs, and ability to speak to the trade-offs between bitrate, quality, and latency.
- Mastery of OTT distribution formats such as MPEG DASH and HLS.
- Familiarity with contribution protocols like RTP, SRT, RTMP and Zixi.
- Proficiency in SCTE-35 and other industry standards used to enable server-side (SSAI) or server-guided (SGAI) dynamic ad insertion.
- Experience building or managing cloud-based video services.
