What You’ll Achieve
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated user interfaces and design systems based on the customer’s business goals and needs. You will work with product management, other engineering teams, customer success, and support on developing cutting-edge new product features and enhancements across various areas of Boomi offerings. You will collaborate with the UI Tech team, which develops foundational tools, libraries, and UI components that empower other Boomi teams to build consistent and high-quality experiences faster.
Key Responsibilities
Frontend Development
- Design and develop responsive and accessible user interfaces using React.js, LIT, HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Proficiency in JavaScript.
- Build reusable components and libraries, following coding standards and design patterns.
- Write clean, well-structured, and maintainable code with a focus on performance and stability.
- Collaborate with UX designers to ensure the best user experience.
Testing & Code Quality
- Provide strong unit test coverage using tools like Jest and React Testing Library.
- Write or contribute to automation test cases as part of the broader frontend testing strategy with tools like Playwright.
- Perform peer reviews and contribute to code quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
Performance Optimization
- Optimize application performance using relevant tools and techniques.
- Monitor and improve frontend performance across load time, memory, and responsiveness.
Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with developers, designers, QA, and product owners.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and planning sessions.
- Actively engage in Agile ceremonies – stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Release & Deployment
- Own features from development to deployment, ensuring quality and readiness.
- Participate in release readiness reviews, ensuring features meet acceptance criteria.
- Troubleshoot basic deployment issues in coordination with the DevOps team.
Team Enablement
- Mentor and support junior engineers, helping them grow in technical depth and delivery quality.
- Lead knowledge transfer (KT) sessions and document key learnings or changes.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 6+ years of frontend development experience with hands-on expertise in frameworks like React or Angular.
- Technical Skills: Strong command of JS (ReactJS preferred) HTML, CSS, and modern web development practices, including responsive design and accessibility (WCAG).
- CI/CD Familiarity: Understanding of CI/CD workflows and basic DevOps principles.
- Performance Focus: Experience with performance optimization and observability techniques.
- Design Systems: Exposure to design systems or modular/micro-frontend architectures is preferred.
- Communication: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Familiarity with SaaS-scale products and cloud-hosted applications.
- Familiarity with frontend test automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium).
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS).
- Familiarity with Linux/UNIX environment
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and iterative delivery.
