Job Description
We are looking for a Backend Developer with strong experience in Java and Spring Boot to develop and maintain web applications deployed on our OpenShift infrastructure. You will work on backend services that follow modern CI/CD practices, with a strong focus on automated testing, security, and role-based access control.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys building reliable backend systems, working close to infrastructure pipelines, and ensuring high-quality, secure deployments in enterprise environments.
Your contribution to something big:
Backend Development (Java / Spring Boot)
- Design, develop, and maintain backend web applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Implement business logic, validation, and service-layer components.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.
API & Security
- Design and implement REST APIs for frontend and system integrations.
- Implement and maintain role-based access control (RBAC) and authorization logic.
- Collaborate with security and architecture teams to enforce access policies.
CI/CD & OpenShift Deployment
- Develop applications deployed on OpenShift using automated Jenkins pipelines.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable build, test, and deployment flows.
- Support container-based deployments and environment configuration.
Testing & Quality
- Write and maintain unit tests and contribute to overall test coverage.
- Support automated testing strategies in CI/CD pipelines.
- Nice-to-have: contribute to end-to-end testing using Playwright.
Collaboration & Operations
- Work closely with frontend, DevOps, QA, and product teams.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and technical discussions.
- Help troubleshoot issues in test and production environments.
Qualifications
What distinguishes you:
Technical Skills
- 3–5 years of professional experience in Java backend development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot (Spring Web, Spring Data, Spring Security).
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP, and backend architecture principles.
- Experience deploying applications on OpenShift or Kubernetes-based platforms.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Jenkins.
- Experience writing and maintaining unit tests (JUnit, Mockito, etc.).
- Good understanding of role management and authorization concepts.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with Keycloak or similar identity and access management solutions.
- Knowledge of Playwright or other end-to-end testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker).
- Experience with relational databases and ORMs (JPA/Hibernate).
- Exposure to monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
