Job Description
As a Senior SAP Commerce Consultant for Bosch Commerce Platform (BCP), you will play a key role in bridging the gap between Product Owners and software development teams.
You ensure that business requirements are properly understood, translated into technical solutions, and implemented with high quality. Together with the existing Technical Lead, you act as a technical sparring partner, providing guidance and maintaining development standards across the team.
You will be responsible for technical consulting, architecture alignment, and ensuring sustainable platform quality. This includes supporting developers in implementation decisions, performing quality checks, and coordinating with Product Owners to clarify requirements.
You will also take ownership for selected technical domains such as Price Service, API Management, Release Management, and Open Source Software scanning (vulnerabilities & licensing).
The role requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including development teams in Poland and business product owners (both internal IT and internal customers) in Germany. A proactive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to say “no” when needed - in both directions - are essential to succeed in this position.
Qualifications
Technical Expertise
- Strong software engineering background (preferably Java/Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices)
- Experience with API Management and Search Services (e.g. SOLR)
- Solid understanding of CI/CD, Git branching, and release management processes
- Familiarity with containerized environments (Kubernetes/Docker) and Cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
- Experience in Open Source Software Scanning and license management tools is a plus
Leadership & Collaboration
- Proven experience in technical leadership or senior engineering roles
- Act as technical consultant and point of contact for Product Owners and developers
- Strong communication skills to “translate” between business and technical language
- Confident to challenge requirements and provide alternatives when necessary
- Capable of mentoring developers and fostering a collaborative team culture
- Ability to perform and lead code reviews and ensure development quality standards
