Senior Business Analyst – Banking & Payments (Operational Excellence)

Drive operational excellence across banking and payments through structured, insight-led change.
The Role
Capco is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Banking & Payments practice, with a strong focus on operational excellence and delivery-led transformation. This role is suited to practitioners with deep content knowledge in banking or payments, rather than generalist business analysis experience.
You’ll work with retail banks, challenger banks, and payments organisations to improve operational performance, enhance customer journeys, and modernise processes through technology, data, and platform change. You’ll collaborate closely with business and technology teams to deliver measurable, sustainable outcomes.
What You’ll Do
Lead business analysis workstreams focused on operational efficiency and process optimisation
Apply deep banking or payments knowledge to shape requirements, solutions, and delivery outcomes
Partner with operations, product, technology, and data teams on change initiatives
Support system implementation, process redesign, and regulatory-driven change programmes
Communicate clear, structured insights and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels
What We’re Looking For
Proven Business Analysis experience within Banking or Payments (non-generalist)
Strong understanding of banking or payments operating models and end-to-end processes
Experience supporting technology implementation, operational change, or process transformation
Confidence facilitating workshops and engaging senior stakeholders
Experience working across Agile and Waterfall delivery environments using tools such as Jira
Bonus Points For
Experience driving operational excellence, cost reduction, or service improvement initiatives
Exposure to payments platforms, core banking systems, or digital banking solutions
Experience with data-led optimisation, automation, or AI-enabled operational use cases
Understanding of UK or global banking and payments regulation
Consulting experience within complex, multi-stakeholder environments
