Job Description
CD PROJEKT RED is seeking an Expert Sound Designer to join our studio in Warsaw to help develop The Witcher 4. As part of our audio team, you will create and implement compelling sound FX and mix audio assets that shape the atmosphere of the game. You’ll collaborate with developers across disciplines to deliver a rich and engaging audio experience.
Daily responsibilities:
- Bring together all elements of Sound Design, Music, and VO as the creative owner of the game’s mix so that audio as a whole fulfils the vision for the game.
- Develop mix systems, and lead the mixing and mastering of the game.
- Record, edit, design, mix, and optimize sound effects.
- Implement audio content into the game using Unreal Engine, Wwise, and in-house tools.
- Mentor Sound Designers to support their growth and effectiveness.
- Collaborate across disciplines (Composers, Audio Programmers, VO Designers, Sound Designers, and Development teams) to deliver meaningful and accessible audio experiences.
Qualifications
- Around 7 years of professional experience in game audio, ideally with senior-level or leadership contributions.
- Deep understanding of both the creative and technical aspects of audio mixing in games.
- Strong, demonstrable sound design and mixing skills shown through a portfolio, demo reel, or game credits.
- Expert proficiency in Wwise middleware.
- Proficiency in DAWs, ideally Reaper.
- Familiarity with 3D audio and spatial audio formats.
- Understanding of audio functionality, capabilities, and limitations across platforms (PC, consoles).
- Able to take initiative while working collaboratively in a team setting.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Haves:
- Knowledge of Unreal 5 and its current audio capabilities and limitations.
- Experience coaching or leading Sound Designers.
Additional Information
Working mode
In-office in a hybrid or full-time capacity in Warsaw, Poland. Relocation is required.
