About Climeworks
We provide carbon removal solutions, focusing on Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology. We offer a complete enterprise service for carbon removal, using both engineered and nature-based solutions. We operate the world’s first two DAC plants in Iceland and have more than 15 years of experience researching, developing, and deploying DAC. Our goal is to develop low-cost DAC technology; we’ve been validating our third-generation technology at a large scale since 2024.
Our DAC technology captures CO₂ from the air using renewable energy. When combined with deep underground storage, the captured CO₂ returns to the earth’s crust, where it’s stored permanently. We partner with organizations to ensure safe, permanent storage. Our technology includes commercial DAC and storage facilities, independently certified projects, and over 30 operational projects and test facilities. The modular design keeps our land footprint small, and the process runs on low-temperature heat at 100 °C. Our operations are accurate, third-party verified, and aim to benefit nature. We’re also developing next-generation sorbent technologies and working on mechanical designs for DAC products.
