THE OPPORTUNITY
The People Department is seeking a Human Resources Information Systems Specialist. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Information Systems Specialist is responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS users including the People team. The Human Resources Information Systems Specialist collaborates with executive leadership and People staff to identify system improvements and enhancements. This role will recommend and implement solutions and automate processes. This role participates and contributes to HRIS projects and systems, HR planning, and supports HR compliance.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Operations:
- Provide technical support on the HRIS systems and other systems to staff Center-wide, along with the People team;
- Provide advice and support to the HR team on resolving system issues, including unexpected process flaws;
- Facilitate New Employee Orientation, as needed;
- Act as a “content creator” for uploading and editing HR information on organization intranet;
- Respond to Jira Helpdesk tickets in a timely manner;
- Complete I-9 to be in compliance with USCIS laws as needed; and
- Complete E-Verify cases, as needed.
Analytical and Planning:
- Prepare timely and accurate reports, data visualizations, and dashboards for executive leadership, Technology, and Finance;
- Identify opportunities for process automation and data-driven solutions to enhance HR operations, compliance, and audit readiness;
- Maintain updated HRIS standard operating procedures;
- Support HR and organization-wide survey initiatives, and support in the review and analysis of responses where necessary;
- Maintain and take the lead on communication with HRIS vendor point-of-contact;
- Keep up-to-date familiarity with the Center’s contracts and expense reconciliation systems; and
- Monitor trends and developments in HR data analytics best practices and tools ,and recommend changes.
Projects and Systems:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR information systems and tools, ensuring efficient data management and reporting capabilities;
- Ensure sound execution of any system implementation projects, including collaborating with the Technology Training team for development and delivery of training to end users; and
- Create and maintain full system of record for employee personnel files and historical information.
Compliance:
- Conduct regular data quality audits to ensure personnel data is accurate across systems and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure data consistency;
- Complete certain compliance reports/submission to governing agencies;
- Assist in responding to audit findings and recommendations; and
- Additional tasks as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required;
- A minimum of 2-4 years focusing on systems and data in the HR field;
- Advanced Excel knowledge required;
- Prior experience with Paycom, Alchemer, Agiloft, and JazzHR is strongly preferred;
- Excellent analytical and technical skills are a must;
- Experience in data management tools; and
- Candidate must be a skilled communicator able to work in multi-disciplinary setting and maintain strong relationships with all levels of stakeholders.
Position Type: Full-time hybrid role working two days on site at our Midtown Manhattan location.
Position Location: Midtown Manhattan.
Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $78,000 - $90,000 and is commensurate with experience.
