We develop a fast, open-source column-oriented database management system for real-time data processing and large-scale analytical reports. We also offer ClickHouse Cloud, a serverless database designed for high query speed and concurrent performance, giving instant insights from large datasets. Our products are used across sectors like observability, ML & GenAI, business intelligence, financial services, fraud & cybersecurity, and gaming. Companies like Sony, Tesla, Anthropic, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Lyft, and Instacart use our products.

Our system focuses on fast query performance, developer-friendliness via SQL, and cost-effectiveness thanks to high compression ratios. It is built to handle modern data challenges like real-time analytics, observability (with ClickStack), efficient data warehousing, and ML & GenAI (with vector search and scalable training). Our column-oriented architecture maximizes CPU efficiency for analytical workloads, setting us apart from row-oriented databases. We support an ecosystem of integrations for data ingestion, visualization, and language clients.

ClickHouse Inc. was incorporated in Delaware in 2021, with our headquarters in the San Francisco Bay Area. We received an initial $50 million investment in September 2021, followed by a Series B funding round of $250 million in October 2021, giving us a $2 billion valuation. European offices opened in Amsterdam in 2022. We also secured Series C funding for $350 million in 2025 and Series D funding for $400 million in 2026, which included acquiring Langfuse to expand into LLM Observability. The open-source project was initially released in 2016, after development started in 2009 and it launched in 2012 to power a major web analytics platform. Our founding team includes Aaron Katz (Co-Founder & CEO), Alexey Milovidov (Co-Founder & CTO), and Yury Izrailevsky (Co-Founder & President).
