Job Description
The embedded Corporate Security Manager will lead the rollout of a client’s Security and Risk Management Framework. This will involve translating strategic recommendations into operational protocols and ensuring alignment with the clientโs global resilience and crisis management programs. The Corporate Security Manager will define and document clear roles and responsibilities for security related functions across the local operation. This will include coordination with local staff and management, as well as the global team responsible for security management and resilience to ensure policy alignment.
This role is a contract position for 6 months with the possibility of extending to 12 months.
Tasks and Responsibilities
A key focus will be the development and implementation of a travel risk management program. This will include:
Being the focal point for all security and travel risk management issues.
Leading the implementation of the newly drafted Security and Travel Risk Management Framework.
Identifying and reporting changes in the local threat landscape to client management and individual travelers.
Advising on how changes to the threat landscape could manifest in risk and offering mitigating solutions.
Acting as the Security Manager and POC in South Africa for international travelers.
Conducting risk assessments and security briefings for international travelers.
Developing and maintaining a local risk register.
Developing and implementing journey management SOPs related to domestic travel and field movements.
Developing high risk movements and late-night SOPs
Designing and developing safety SOPs.
Building relationships with key facilities and local security stakeholders.
Leading on incident response, including after-actions.
Delivering additional training (as required) to new joiners/travelers.
Prior experience in a consulting/corporate security environment (essential).
Strong understanding of security standards related to ISO 31000 and 31030 and its application.
Demonstrated experience in personnel and travel risk management in South Africa.
Strong operational understanding of journey management.
Proven incident response capability.
Experience designing and developing risk management processes and programs.
Ability to communicate security concepts to non-security staff.
Experience in developing and implementing new security programs with buy-in from key stakeholders.
