We’re a green-tech start-up on a mission to make our digital lives more sustainable. Our solution, GRADIENT Perceptive AI, is a no-code, plug-and-play optimization tool that helps data centers operate more efficiently, sustainably, and cost-effectively. Already in use across the globe, GRADIENT has saved thousands of GWh in energy. And we’re just getting started!
As we scale up, we’re looking for a collaborative Working Student - Mechanical Research to help expand GRADIENT’s reach and drive impactful change in how the world powers digital life.
🚀 Your impact zone
As a working student within the Mechanical Research Team, you will:
Explore, develop, and validate optimization opportunities for data center cooling and power infrastructure, delivering measurable energy, water, and cost savings.
Build and test analytical models in Python, contributing directly to features used in production.
Get a deep understanding of data center cooling and electrical infrastructure.
Support the Mechanical Research team by standardizing analyses, tuning thresholds, and ensuring data and models are consistent and reliable.
See your work directly contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions on a global scale.
Requirements
🔋 What powers you
Enrolled in at least an HBO-level programme(year 2+ preferred) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related technical field.
Comfortable with Python basics (NumPy, pandas, matplotlib).
SQL — Desired but not a must, learning mindset is key.
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently in an English-speaking environment.
Nice-to-haves
Coursework or hobby projects on HVAC, thermodynamics, building services or energy systems.
Familiarity with Git.
Passion for sustainability.
