Community & Creator Marketing Manager

Job Description

About Darkroom

Darkroom is the leading next-generation growth marketing firm engineering the brands of tomorrow. Founded in 2017, we set out to redefine what a modern agency could be, by replacing the inertia of legacy advertising behemoths with a model built for speed, intelligence, and measurable impact.

At our core, Darkroom is a human services company powered by Shadow, a universal AI commerce layer that integrates executive-level strategy with proprietary agentic technology. This fusion enables our teams to deliver outsized returns by enhancing creative output, operational efficiency, and revenue generation across every stage of the customer journey.

Our track record speaks for itself: billions in attributable revenue driven across e-commerce marketplaces, media networks, DTC ecosystems, and social commerce platforms. Every engagement feeds into our proprietary data infrastructure, enabling a continuous feedback loop that accelerates growth, improves margins, and compounds results across our client portfolio.

What began as a boutique design studio has evolved into one of the fastest-growing private companies in America (Inc. 5000) and among the most effective performance media agencies of the 2020s (Varos). Our founders were recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30 for advancing the intersection of technology, marketing, and advertising, cementing Darkroom’s role as a defining player in the future of media innovation.

About the Role

We are looking for someone who can hold three distinct responsibilities at once: community building, creator relationships, and marketing partnerships, and operate across all of them with intelligence and initiative. The right person has agency experience, understands how content and distribution work together, and can move with conviction without needing constant direction.

You will be the connective tissue between our brand presence online and the external network of creators, marketing partners, and collaborators who help amplify it. You will own community across our social channels, manage creator and marketing partners relationships end-to-end, and build and run the marketing partnerships program that extends Darkroom’s reach and authority through co-branded content, webinars, podcasts, guides and events.

What You’ll Do

Creator Management

  • Build and manage relationships with our content creators, UGC producers, and influencers across verticals.

  • Own the full creator workflow: outreach, briefing, content review, approval, and performance tracking.

  • Identify new creator opportunities that align with Darkroom’s brand and content goals.

  • Coordinate with creators to source and repurpose content assets for use across social, email, and web.

  • Maintain a creator CRM and keep relationships warm and organized.

Marketing Partnerships, Events & Content Programs

  • Build and manage a marketing partnership pipeline: identify aligned brands, agencies, tools, and communities for co-marketing opportunities.

  • Source and coordinate guests, collaborators, and co-hosts for Darkroom’s webinars, podcasts, and live events.

  • Project-manage and produce Darkroom’s events calendar including webinars, office hours, and brand-led activations, from logistics and promotion to recap and follow-up.

  • Coordinate podcast appearances and guest features: research opportunities, manage outreach, prepare briefs, and track coverage.

  • Support the production and distribution of co-branded guides and gated content, coordinating with writers, designers, and external marketing partners to get assets across the finish line.

  • Help develop affiliate and referral relationships that feed Darkroom’s inbound funnel.

  • Maintain a running calendar and CRM for all events and marketing partnership activity, keeping stakeholders informed and deadlines on track.

Community Management

  • Own community engagement across all Darkroom social channels (Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube), responding to comments, DMs, and mentions in a voice that reflects our brand.

  • Monitor social sentiment and flag relevant conversations, trends, or opportunities for the broader team.

  • Work closely with the content writer to ensure our posts and campaigns land well and generate real conversation.

  • Track community health metrics and report on what is working and what is not.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in community management, content marketing, influencer marketing, or marketing partnerships, ideally at an agency or within a fast-moving brand.

  • Genuine fluency across social platforms. You understand the difference between how a brand should show up on LinkedIn versus Instagram versus X and you can act on that without being briefed.

  • Hands-on experience working with creators or influencers: sourcing, briefing, managing, and measuring.

  • Experience coordinating events, webinars, or podcast logistics. You know how to own a project from setup to follow-up.

  • A strong network-building instinct. You are the kind of person who naturally identifies and cultivates relationships with the right people, whether that is a creator, a podcast host, a marketing partner, or an event collaborator.

  • Strong writing skills. You can write a creator brief, a marketing partnership pitch, a podcast outreach email, and a community comment in the same afternoon and all four will sound like they came from a thoughtful person.

  • Highly organized with a self-starter mindset. You manage your own workload, surface problems early, and do not need to be told what to do next.

  • Analytical enough to track what is working and curious enough to ask why.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in e-commerce, DTC, or performance marketing environments.

  • You have built or grown a social presence yourself, for a brand, a project, or your own account.

  • You have produced or co-produced a podcast, a webinar, or brand content series.

  • You have managed co-marketing partnerships, affiliate programs, or brand collaborations before.

  • You are familiar with Notion and Figma.

Working at Darkroom

Darkroom is not a typical agency. We are looking for A players that want to build something great. There is no room in our organization for mediocrity and candidates that are not at the top of their game do not last. We move fast, think deeply, and expect every team member to bring insight and rigor to everything they touch. We hold a high bar for performance, creativity, and ownership — but we also support each other relentlessly. No egos, no red tape — just world-class talent building something remarkable.

We believe in autonomy with accountability, truth over comfort, and outcomes over optics. If you want to build and win alongside some of the smartest people in the business, you’ll thrive here.

  • Location, location, (or no) location: Remote-first culture with a strong community base. While many roles remain fully remote, employees hired to work from our New York or Lisbon HQs (opening early 2026) are expected to adopt a hybrid working model, including weekly in-office appearances. Hub locations also include the Bay Area, Philly, São Paulo, and Barcelona.

  • Parental Leave: flexible parental leave benefits to support new parents during this important transition, ensuring time to bond with their families while maintaining work-life balance.

  • Endless opportunities for growth: Our agency is founded on an interdisciplinary approach, giving Darkroomers insights into services far beyond your job description. Grow your skills and interests beyond your niche and stay at the forefront of the industry through total immersion in cross-functional collaboration.

Equal Opportunity Statement

Darkroom is an equal opportunity workplace—we are dedicated to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national orientation, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status. We also consider qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with legal requirements
