About the Role
The Senior Bid Manager plays a crucial role in driving business growth in alignment with our targets by supporting the entire sales lifecycle to secure profitable, well-managed bids. As part of the NZ Market Sales team, you will work on significant bid opportunities and engagements; ensuring all aspects of the proposed solution are targeted, deliverable, well-articulated, clearly presented and commercially viable.
You will take responsibility for developing the required relationships and driving the bid activities across the business as part of the sales process.
This role is responsible for delivering high-quality, customer-focused proposals that balance value and cost effectively. As a key position, the Senior Bid Manager ensures the bid team is properly resourced and structured to develop a winning proposal.
What You’ll Do
Lead virtual teams to develop responses for complex tenders and major proposals (including EOIs, RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs)
Mentor junior staff, drive continuous improvement, foster best practice
Co-ordinate and ensure that all opportunities follow qualification, risk assessment and review processes.
Oversee the proposal process, including content acquisition and internal review.
Provide regular status updates to business stakeholders in conjunction with the opportunity owner.
Manage all commercial and quality reviews ensuring all business and delivery stakeholders have approved all aspects of the solution and costs.
Collaborate and develop relationships with stakeholders and contributors
Continuous development of a library of best practice collateral that can be used in proposal creation.
Maintaining a proposal toolkit - to ensure that all company guidelines are adhered to
What You’ll Bring
Broad understanding of IT services and our industry
Strong understanding and implementation of bid and proposal methods and disciplines
Strong team leadership skills and reporting capabilities
Proven time management skills, with the ability to multitask and work on competing priorities
Strong verbal and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
Outstanding negotiating and influencing skills to get internal support and buy in of “virtual teams”
Knowledge of finance management practices
Excellent stakeholder relationship building and management skills.
Confidence and experience using AI tools for the creation of proposals
Creative skills a bonus, eye for detail
