Trust & Compliance Operations Specialist

🇺🇸 United States - Remote
⚖️ Finance & Legal🔵 Mid-level

Job description

Please Note: This is a Utah-based hybrid position which will require some regular in-office days each week. Additionally, employment with BambooHR is contingent on passing both a background and credit check.

Essential Job Duties

If we asked your coworkers to describe you, they would respond “steady,” “high judgment,” “detail obsessed,” and “surprisingly creative.” You have a knack for taking messy, ambiguous work and turning it into simple, repeatable processes that people actually follow. You are the kind of person who can handle sensitive work with discretion, keep many things moving at once, and still notice the one detail that matters.

You also understand something important. No one wakes up excited to talk about compliance. So you look for ways to make it more human, more engaging, and more memorable without losing credibility. You believe even highly regulated work can be thoughtful, audience focused, and occasionally delightful. You look for small, meaningful ways to elevate everyday interactions and make them more human, without sacrificing trust or credibility.

Join our Legal team as a Trust and Compliance Operations Specialist supporting the BambooTrust program. You will help build and run the operational backbone of our trust and compliance work. This includes documentation and tracking, trainings and internal communications, and the logistics that keep key compliance committees running smoothly. This is a builder and runner role. You will help create the workflows, then you will execute them with excellence.

You will:

  • Build and run operational processes that keep trust and compliance work organized, audit ready, and moving forward, including tracking, documentation, follow ups, and reporting
  • Maintain accurate, up to date records for compliance activities, assessments, and internal controls, ensuring documentation is clean, consistent, and accessible
  • Support audits and assessments by coordinating evidence, preparing materials, and responding to internal and external compliance-related inquiries
  • Improve how the compliance program runs by proposing better workflows, templates, tooling, and documentation, then implementing those changes
  • Find creative, thoughtful ways to make compliance more engaging for employees through trainings, communications, and events that respect people’s time and attention
  • Drive trust and compliance trainings, events, and internal campaigns, both live and asynchronous, including occasional presentations when needed
  • Create or coordinate internal and external BambooTrust content in partnership with teams across the company, under executive direction
  • Provide operational and administrative support for compliance committees and working groups, including scheduling, agendas, reimbursements, meeting logistics, and other details
  • Administer compliance related tools and systems, including maintaining content, workflows, and updates within our policy management tooling
  • Partner closely with the Head of Compliance to keep priorities clear, escalate risks appropriately, and ensure the right work happens at the right time

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • You feel aligned with BambooHR values and how we work
  • You have strong organizational skills and can manage multiple workstreams without dropping details
  • You have high judgment and discretion and can be trusted with sensitive and confidential information
  • You communicate clearly and professionally and know when to ask questions versus when to run with it
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and can help create structure where none exists
  • You are strong with documentation and operational rigor and naturally keep work organized and audit ready
  • You are comfortable with tools like Google Workspace and spreadsheets and can learn new systems quickly
  • You have a baseline understanding of compliance concepts such as policies, audits, assessments, and controls, or the ability to ramp quickly
  • You bring an audience-first mindset and enjoy finding ways to make serious work more engaging and approachable
  • You are comfortable being a thought partner and doing necessary administrative work and you approach both with the same level of care

What Will Make Us REALLY Love You

  • One to two years of experience in compliance, operations, legal support, HR, or a process heavy administrative role
  • Experience improving workflows, creating templates, or building operational systems from scratch
  • Comfort presenting or facilitating trainings to groups

What You’ll Love About Us

  • A Great Company Culture that has been recognized by multiple organizations like Inc, and Salt Lake Tribune
  • Comprehensive health, life, and disability insurance
  • Generous leave policies that include 4 weeks of vacation, 12 company holidays, parental leave, and volunteer time off so you can enjoy quality of life
  • 401k plans with up to 6% company match
  • $2000 Paid-Paid Vacation bonus
  • EAP through Headspace
