Job Description
The Data Driven Access team continuously improves Germany’s fixed access network. We leverage data engineering, data analytics, and data science to detect and resolve network issues—often before customers even notice any disruption to their landline services. Our approach starts with a deep understanding of data structures and their connection to the underlying infrastructure. We then perform data engineering tasks, including data quality checks, followed by the development of rule-based analytics and machine learning models to identify network faults—working closely with network experts. Finally, we build scalable pipelines and deploy our solutions into production. Our work is powered by a modern big data platform based on a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tool stack.
As a Data Scientist:
- you will be part of a team responsible for multiple data analytics projects within the fixed access network of Telekom Deutschland.
- You will work in an innovative and agile environment, applying machine learning methods to ensure the highest network quality for our customers.
- Your key responsibilities will include building predictive maintenance solutions by analyzing data and developing machine learning algorithms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Within our team, you will drive innovation by continuously developing and sharing your expertise across the entire end-to-end (E2E) process.
Qualifications
- You hold a Master’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science) or a related field
- You have strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented mindset
- You bring several years of professional experience as a Data Scientist
- You have expert-level knowledge of Python and SQL
- You possess strong expertise (expert-level) in machine learning algorithms and data engineering
- You have successfully developed data science solutions and deployed them into production, generating measurable business impact
- You have hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ideally including BigQuery and Cloud Composer
- You are familiar with Docker and Kubernetes
- You apply MLOps best practices in your daily work, including data cleaning, clean code, modeling, operations, and version control (Git)
- You are driven to continuously learn and grow, and you actively contribute innovative ideas within your team
- You thrive in an agile working environment
- You have a strong interest in telecommunication technologies
- You are fluent in English; German language skills are a strong plus
