Converts industrial carbon emissions into sustainable chemicals, displacing fossil fuels.

About Dioxycle

We started in 2020, developing carbon utilization technologies. Our core product is an electrolyzer that converts industrial carbon emissions (COx) into sustainable chemicals, primarily ethylene. Our goal is to replace fossil fuels in the production of key chemicals, potentially cutting over 800 million tons of CO2 emissions each year (more than 1% of global emissions).

The electrolyzer uses electricity to turn COx into ethylene, made entirely from recycled carbon. This sustainable ethylene is a raw material for products like polyester fabrics, various plastics used in consumer goods, car interiors, and packaging, and construction materials such as high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) for pipes and window frames. Our technology can also produce other chemicals, including pharmaceuticals, solvents, adhesives, and fuels.

We’ve developed proprietary innovations to make our process cost-efficient, aiming for a “Green Premium” that is zero or even negative compared to fossil ethylene. Its modular design also makes it capital expenditure (CapEx) efficient. This modular technology uses renewable power and can be installed directly where emissions occur.

We’ve already completed a medium-scale proof-of-concept for a carbon monoxide electrolyzer and are now developing a large-scale industrial prototype. We operate R&D centers in Europe and California.

Mission & Values

Our mission is to fight climate change through breakthrough science. We’re building a sustainable society that uses carbon dioxide instead of extracting fossil fuels. We believe profitability is crucial for decarbonization technologies to be widely adopted.

Our core values guide us:

  • Work your a off**: Innovate and improve rapidly.
  • Wild experimentation: Be bold in experiments to achieve significant breakthroughs.
  • Think big: Focus on large-scale impact by developing carbon-emission electrolyzers at unprecedented scales.
  • Collaborate: Foster strong collaboration and support within the team.
