About the Role:
We are seeking a Principal SAP EAM Analyst to lead the evolution, optimisation, and governance of our clients’ Enterprise Asset Management and Plant Maintenance solutions on S/4HANA. This role is senior, highly hands-on, and critical to ensuring stable, scalable, and efficient EAM operations across asset-intensive environments. You will serve as the trusted SME for SAP PM, Asset Management, and mobility tools such as SAP Service and Asset Manager (SSAM). You will guide design decisions, lead enhancements, mentor junior analysts, and partner closely with business and IT to deliver robust, fit-for-purpose solutions that support operational excellence.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Lead solution design, configuration, enhancement, and operational support across SAP EAM, SAP PM, and mobile solutions including SSAM
- Facilitate workshops and solution discussions, ensuring alignment to enterprise standards and integration across Procurement, Inventory Management, Project Systems, and Finance
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to assess requirements, analyse impacts, and recommend optimal solutions
- Mentor L1 and L2 analysts, service provider teams, and guide ITIL-compliant processes and SAP best practices
- Shape the roadmap for EAM, PM, and SSAM capabilities by identifying opportunities for automation, standardisation, and digital optimisation
- Apply deep configuration experience across maintenance orders, notifications, equipment, and functional locations in S/4HANA
- Lead enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives within SAP Maintenance
- Support Agile delivery through backlog refinement, user story definition, and prioritisation discussions with Product Owners and Delivery Managers
- Conduct workshops to gather requirements and translate them into functional specifications and system designs
Provide leadership across releases, upgrades, testing cycles, and cutovers to ensure stability and quality
Your qualifications and experience:
- 15+ years of experience across SAP Enterprise Asset Management, Plant Maintenance, and SAP Service and Asset Manager with strong hands-on configuration expertise
- SAP S/4HANA certification in Plant Maintenance or Asset Management (or equivalent)
- Experience working within asset-intensive sectors such as Utilities, Mining, Energy, or Manufacturing
- Strong functional understanding of maintenance processes, asset lifecycle management, and integration points with Procurement, Inventory, PS, and Finance
- Demonstrated experience operating within Agile frameworks including backlog refinement, user story development, and release participation
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior business and IT stakeholders
- Excellent analytical thinking, communication ability, and problem-solving capability
