About Eclipse Foundation
We provide an environment for open source software collaboration and innovation. We oversee open source projects and encourage using Eclipse technology in commercial and open source solutions.
We host the Eclipse IDE, Jakarta EE, Eclipse Software Defined Vehicle, and over 400 other open source projects. These include runtimes, tools, specifications, and frameworks for enterprise, cloud, edge, IoT, AI, automotive, systems engineering, distributed ledger technologies, and open processor designs. We also offer services like Open VSX and other SaaS products.
We support a global community of individuals and organizations, including over 300 member organizations. We began as an independent non-profit in January 2004, spun off from the Eclipse Project, which IBM started in November 2001. We are an international non-profit association (AISBL) based in Brussels, Belgium.
