Founded in 2011, we develop ad-filtering technology and privacy solutions for the internet. Our goal is to create an online environment where users control their experience, content creators are fairly compensated, and advertisers can connect with consumers on clear terms. We offer solutions for publishers, advertisers, ad-tech providers, and over 400 million ad-filtering users worldwide.
Our ad-filtering technology is behind products like Adblock Plus and AdBlock. We also integrate our technology into popular browsers and smartphone OEMs. In 2011, we started the Acceptable Ads program, which sets standards for non-intrusive ads. This program now reaches 400 million users.
In 2017, we created the Acceptable Ads Exchange (AAX) to connect buyers and sellers of Acceptable Ads, building a marketplace for publishers and ad-filtering audiences. We launched Acceptable Ads Marketplaces in 2023.
In 2022, we acquired Blockthrough, a Toronto-based technology company. Blockthrough helps digital media businesses recover revenue lost to ad blocking by offering ad block recovery solutions. It also provides premium ad demand through direct connections with top-tier SSPs, and is a widely used ad block recovery solution among Comscore-150 companies.
