Forbes is seeking a strategically minded Senior Manager, Member Acquisition to join the Membership team within its Consumer Revenue and Growth business. This role will report to the Director of Membership and serve as a key driver of subscriber growth by leading the strategy and execution of multi-channel acquisition efforts. The Senior Manager will be responsible for accelerating new member acquisition, optimizing performance across the acquisition funnel, and partnering cross-functionally to scale sustainable subscription growth. The ideal candidate is a performance-oriented growth leader who combines strong analytical rigor with hands-on execution and understands how to convert audience demand into long-term recurring revenue.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-channel acquisition strategy designed to meet or exceed monthly KPIs for new subscriptions and net growth.
- Oversee the end-to-end campaign execution process, managing the acquisition marketing calendar, coordinating cross-functional workflows, and ensuring the timely, on-budget launch of all promotional and evergreen initiatives.
- Optimize the conversion rate of key acquisition channels, including landing pages, paywall, email marketing, and paid media (e.g., Facebook, Google, LinkedIn), to improve customer acquisition.
- Write highly effective marketing copy across multiple channels that appropriately reflects Forbes’ voice and improves user acquisition and conversion.
- Oversee the email acquisition strategy, creating and deploying campaigns designed to nurture prospects and convert them into members.
- Coordinate paid media campaigns end to end, from briefing creative teams and trafficking assets to ensuring all deliverables are on schedule and aligned with the overall acquisition plan.
- Execute campaign updates and A/B tests within the paywall management system, handling configuration of logic, metering thresholds, creative assets, audience splits, and test variants.
- Develop a strategic testing roadmap and CRO framework across acquisition channels, continually driving improvements in acquisition performance and CAC.
- Partner closely with Product, Editorial, Data, and Creative teams to develop compelling marketing assets and experiences that drive acquisition and ensure a cohesive user journey from first touch to conversion.
- Establish acquisition benchmarks and report on key performance indicators using tools such as Looker to translate data into actionable insights.
- Pioneer new acquisition initiatives to discover, validate, and scale new sources of subscriber growth.
The ideal candidate
- Brings 7+ years of experience in a fast-paced growth function, ideally focused on user acquisition for subscription or ecommerce-based consumer products.
- Has a proven track record of driving subscriber acquisition and growth, preferably within an established digital publisher.
- Has hands-on experience with subscriber acquisition tools such as Zuora (preferred).
- Has hands-on experience managing paid user acquisition across major platforms (Meta/Instagram, Google, Reddit, etc.), with a strong understanding of ad attribution and pixel implementation.
- Demonstrates deep expertise with email service providers and marketing automation platforms, including Salesforce Marketing Cloud (required) and Cordial (preferred), with working knowledge of HTML and AMPscript.
- Has experience working with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) for advanced audience segmentation, data integration, and campaign personalization.
- Is proficient with analytics and business intelligence tools such as Looker and Google Analytics to build reports and derive actionable insights.
- Has strong knowledge of digital marketing best practices, including funnel optimization, CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and data privacy regulations.
- Has experience working with Content Management Systems (CMS) and building and optimizing landing pages for conversion.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-driven media environment.
- Is highly analytical and data-driven, with the ability to dig into performance data to identify growth opportunities.
- Is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on operator, comfortable executing campaign setup and optimization.
- Is an exceptional communicator and collaborator, capable of managing stakeholders and influencing cross-functional teams.
- Is detail-oriented, ensuring flawless campaign execution from creative brief through post-launch analysis.
The annual base salary range for this role is $95,000 - $110,000
