GACC Midwest - German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest, Inc.

We were founded in 1963 as the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest, Inc., and are headquartered in Chicago with a branch office in Detroit. We are part of the global network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs), which includes 150 offices in 93 countries.

Our mission is to promote and assist in expanding bilateral trade and investment between Germany and the United States, particularly within the Midwest region. Our operational territory covers 14 US states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Colorado. This region accounts for roughly one-quarter of the nation’s land area, population, and GDP.

We function as a trade commission, a membership association, and a professional consultancy. We provide services such as career and recruitment, delegations, membership, networking events, intercultural training, advertising, apprenticeships, market entry consulting, business development, marketing, and localization, focusing on German-American business relations.

Our mission is to promote and assist in expanding bilateral trade and investment between Germany and the United States, especially within the Midwest.
