Job Description
Gameloft Bucharest is seeking a Game Designer with the expertise to make key contributions to an unannounced cozy life-sim PC / console title.
As a Game Designer, you will play a vital role within our game development team, working closely with the Lead Designer and Creative Director. Your responsibilities will include contributing to design efforts and collaborating with various stakeholders to create innovative and immersive gaming experiences. You will be responsible for designing gameplay mechanics, systems, levels, and overall player progression and will support the successful implementation of game design concepts. This is an incredible opportunity to build and support an innovative gaming experience for millions of players and engaged fans around the world.
Your main challenges will include:
- Show great initiative and ownership over your assigned features
- Design fun and immersive gameplay mechanics, systems, and features through the full cycle of production from concept to final stage
- Maintain strong communication with Creative, Art, and Programming teams to align all the elements into a common high-quality vision for the game.
- Understand the specific considerations of designing for PC and console platforms. Ensure best practices are communicated and adhered to in the implementation of accessible gameplay mechanics and progression loops.
- Documentation, script writing, data entry, and game balancing.
- Review deliverables and be able to provide considered, constructive and prioritized feedback.
- Present and promote design solutions effectively to peers and management.
- Working in the Engine to prototype / improve various features.
Qualifications
Your skill set:
- Professional game design experience, ideally including at least one shipped title.
- Proactive, enthusiastic team player comfortable working within a fast-moving, multi-disciplinary team.
- Passionate about games, design, and technology - with a forward-thinking approach.
- Fast prototyping skills and openness to numerous iterations.
- Good knowledge of Unreal Engine Blueprint system. Knowledge of other Unreal Engine subsystems is a plus (animation graphs, materials, AI, UMG, Unreal Engine replication for multiplayer etc).
- Excellent organizational skills and methodology.
- Ability to write clear and concise documentation specific to any of the teams involved in the process.
- Ability to communicate feedback to development teams.
- Good communication skills and able to work in a team.
