What you will be doing
As a Solutions Engineer at GraphAware, you are the face of our technical expertise. You will help customers unlock the full value of their data using GraphAware Hume, our graph-powered intelligence analysis platform.
This is primarily a client-facing, consultative role. While you need a solid technical foundation, your day-to-day success depends on your ability to build relationships, ‘sell’ a technical vision, and guide law enforcement and defence agencies through complex digital transformations. You will join a small, high-impact team acting as the bridge between our powerful technology and the real-world missions of our clients.
Your responsibilities
Client Engagement & Pre-Sales
- Technical Diplomacy: Lead technical discussions during sales calls and workshops. You are responsible for understanding a client’s ‘pain points’ and showing them exactly how Hume solves them.
- Solution Demonstrations: Deliver compelling, tailored demos and prototypes. You aren’t just showing software; you are telling a story of how data can solve crimes or protect national security.
- Tenders & Proposals: Assist with the technical requirements of RFPs and tenders, ensuring our solution aligns with the client’s strategic goals.
Customer Success & Onboarding
- Trusted Advisor: Act as a long-term partner for our clients. You’ll stay involved after the initial sale to showcase new features, provide training, and ensure the platform is being used to its full potential.
- Onboarding & Deployment: Guide new clients through the setup process. You will be the person they look to for best practices and ‘how-to’ guidance.
- Feedback Loop: Act as the voice of the customer, bringing field insights back to our Product and Engineering teams to influence the future of the platform.
Your Profile: The ‘Consultative Expert’
We are looking for a professional who is comfortable in the boardroom and the terminal. You might come from a background in Data Science, Physics, or even the Humanities, provided you have developed the necessary technical literacy.
- Communication First: You are a confident, high-level communicator. You enjoy speaking in front of new people and can explain complex concepts simply and convincingly.
- Business-Technical Balance: You understand both the ‘how’ (technical) and the ‘why’ (business/mission value). You have 3+ years of experience in a role that required both.
- Intelligence Interest: A deep interest (or background) in intelligence analysis, law enforcement, or defense is a huge bonus. You enjoy the ‘detective work’ of data.
- Adaptability: You are comfortable with travel (up to 20%) to meet clients face-to-face and attend industry events.
Technical Foundation (The Tools You’ll Use)
You don’t need to be a full-stack developer, but you must be comfortable using the following to build demos and assist with deployments:
- Scripting: Solid experience with Python (for data manipulation and scripting).
- Data Management: Proficiency in SQL for working with relational data.
- Environment: Comfortable working in Docker and a terminal/Linux environment.
- The ‘Graph’ Factor: You should be excited to master Neo4j and Cypher (prior experience is a bonus, but not a requirement).
