The role

As a Manager, Strategy & Expansion, you will act as a high-impact internal consultant, driving critical strategic projects that shape the future of HelloFresh. You will diagnose complex problems, build rigorous frameworks, and lead cross-functional workstreams to deliver quantifiable results.

You will pivot between high-level group strategy, transformation and operational efficiency projects. You will hold ownership of analysis, drive insights, and make recommendations that guide our most critical capital allocation and strategic decisions.

What you’ll do

Group Strategy & Capital Allocation

• Partner directly with the Group Management Board to define and refine our long-term strategic agenda and vision.
• Conduct rigorous analysis to support high-stakes capital allocation decisions, ensuring resources are directed toward the highest-ROI opportunities across our global portfolio.
• Prepare data-driven strategic decision materials and presentations for the Management Board and Supervisory Board, distilling complex dynamics into clear, actionable recommendations.

Strategic Expansion & Commercial Analysis

• Drive commercial due diligence and market analysis for key organic expansion and M&A opportunities.
• Perform deep-dive competitive intelligence and market sizing to inform “buy vs. build” decisions and new market entry strategies.

Business Unit Strategy (Project-Based)

• Act as a strategic surge resource for Business Unit Managing Directors (MDs) and functional leaders to solve their most critical commercial challenges on a project-by-project basis.
• Support the creation of mid-term strategies and robust business cases for specific BUs, helping local leadership teams identify growth levers and profit driving initiatives.
• Provide objective, “outside-in” analysis to pressure-test local assumptions and optimize strategy execution.

Group Transformation & Efficiency

• Coordinate cross-functional efficiency programs and lead strategic initiatives, ensuring speed of execution and alignment across teams.
• Identify organizational bottlenecks or structural inefficiencies and design data-backed solutions to streamline operating models.
• Drive “special projects” that fall outside the scope of day-to-day operations but are critical to the Group’s efficiency and agility.

What you’ll bring

• Experience: 2-4 years of experience in a Management Consulting firm (top tier preferred) or a high-impact internal Strategy team. Experience with commercial due diligence, market entry, or operational improvement projects is highly valued.

• Strategic Toolkit: You possess a classic consulting toolkit—you can break down ambiguous problems into logical issue trees, develop hypotheses, and drive to a solution using ⁸⁰⁄₂₀ thinking.

• Analytical Rigor: You are comfortable working with large datasets to quantify impact. You don’t just present data; you synthesize it into a compelling narrative that influences senior stakeholders.

• Operator Mindset: You thrive in a fast-paced environment where speed matters, and you are actively involved in driving workstreams to completion.

• Collaboration & Influence: Excellent ability to manage stakeholders without formal authority, building trust with MDs, functional leaders, and C-level executives through high-quality work and objective insight.
