Our client, a rapidly scaling technology company with a global footprint, is seeking an exceptional Senior Director of Human Resources to lead their US region. This is a high-impact leadership role for an HR executive who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution.
As the senior HR voice for the US region, you’ll partner directly with the Global SVP of HR and business leaders to align people strategy with ambitious growth objectives. This role requires someone who can operate both strategically and hands-on, building scalable HR infrastructure while remaining deeply connected to day-to-day operations.
You’ll lead a team of 7-9 HR professionals across Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, and Administration, while collaborating with global Centers of Excellence based internationally. This is an opportunity to shape culture, drive organizational effectiveness, and build HR practices that enable a high-performance, inclusive environment.
Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid - 3 days in office)
Travel: Approximately 25%
Reports To: Senior Vice President - Human Resources
Essential:
- Experience: 15+ years in progressive HR leadership roles, with 6+ years leading high-performance teams in technology companies
- Strategic Partnership: Proven track record partnering effectively with senior executives in dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Compliance Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of US federal and state employment and compensation laws; experience managing multi-state compliance requirements
- Compensation Mastery: Direct experience with compensation surveys (Radford, Mercer, or similar); proven ability to design and administer competitive compensation and incentive programs
- Technical Proficiency: Strong command of HRIS systems, ATS platforms, and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- US Payroll: Full understanding of US payroll and multi-state compliance complexities
- Leadership: Demonstrated success building, coaching, and developing HR teams and influencing business leaders
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Preferred
- Global collaboration experience, particularly with India/APAC and European teams
- Experience supporting both go-to-market (sales, customer success) and technical organizations
- Familiarity with Greenhouse (ATS) and Workday (HRIS)
- Experience with global payroll vendor selection and implementation
- Established HR network in the San Diego/Southern California region
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to operate effectively in matrix environments

Salary Range: $185,000 - $210,000 (commensurate with experience)
