Lead Architect guides the architectural vision and design of scalable, high-quality solutions across their responsibility area. Lead Architect works closely with cross-functional development teams and architects to ensure that technical solutions align with business goals, industry standards and best practices. This is a role that combines hands-on level technical expertise, strategic thinking and mentorship.

Lead Architect, M365 oversees the development of M365-related services.

Technical skills:

  • Microsoft 365 ecosystem (SharePoint, Purview, Copilot)
  • Microsoft Entra ID
  • M365 Administration

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the overall solution and software architectures, ensuring scalability, security, performance and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, product managers and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies and frameworks to enhance our products.
  • Oversee design reviews, code reviews and architecture discussions to ensure adherence to architectural principles.
  • Lead and mentor architects and senior engineers, fostering technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure alignment of architectural direction with organizational goals and industry trends.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Document architecture artifacts and ensure knowledge is captured and shared across teams.
  • Drive innovation by staying up to date with emerging technologies and trends.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of software development and architecture experience.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical work.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field.

Location and time zone:

We work in a hybrid model, so you can work from any location where M-Files has operations in EMEA (Finland/UK/France).

Please note that some of the teams are based in Bangalore, India, so the Lead Architect must be able to work at least 3 hours per day aligned with the Bangalore time zone.
