About Memfault

Founded in 2018, we are an IT services and consulting company with 51-200 employees. We provide an embedded observability platform for IoT monitoring, firmware debugging, and over-the-air (OTA) updates. Our platform helps teams build robust devices through performance monitoring, debugging, and OTA update capabilities.

We support devices running RTOS, bare metal, Android, and Linux, and we work on microcontrollers. Our platform helps accelerate go-to-market, de-risk product launches, reduce costs, and improve product reliability. Customers use it to quickly spot and resolve quality issues, improving satisfaction, lowering service costs, and meeting uptime targets.

Our platform provides real-time visibility into deployed device performance and reliability, allowing teams to proactively identify and address issues. With our platform, you can identify problematic devices and resolve reliability issues remotely by automatically collecting coredumps, bug reports, logs, and performance metrics. We also provide real-time visibility and staged rollout options for firmware updates.

We built Memfault to work on any embedded device, with any connectivity setup. It’s optimized for minimal power consumption and compute usage. It buffers data for intermittently connected devices and sends it via gateways or companion devices. Standard MCU implementations require about 4.5kb of ROM and 1.5kb of RAM. Our platform can be configured to send data in small packets, suitable for low-bandwidth, metered networks. We offer solutions for embedded engineers, engineering leaders, product managers, and customer support teams.

Mission & Values

We believe that device reliability engineering and observability for embedded devices will transform how developers build and operate IoT and edge devices, increasing productivity and collaboration.

Team & Culture

Our founders, inspired by their experiences at Pebble, Oculus, and Fitbit, built Memfault for engineers, by engineers. Our goal is to help firmware engineers achieve the same productivity as software engineers, using our end-to-end observability platform for connected devices. We are actively growing our team to bring best-in-class tooling to the hardware space. Our team includes roles in engineering, sales, operations, customer success, product, and marketing.
