Job Brief

This is a foundational role and your chance to be the first Content Designer hired into the Product Design team and the wider company. We are looking for an experienced, self-sufficient Senior who will own and define the critical role of content in our in-app user experience.

You will solve real business problems by applying a strategic, data-driven approach to language, ensuring that words and visuals are crafted together as one, and that content is concise, tailored, and actionable.

Your initial focus will be within the Customer Strategy team with a focus on driving engagement and conversion, where your work will have a clear, measurable impact on key business metrics. You’ll be tasked with coming up with fresh ideas to improve existing user experiences, configure experiences available in the CMS and bring new ideas for experiences that will impact revenue streams. Because you’ll be part of the Commercial stream, an interest in growth and revenue is essential.

Please note this is a hybrid role with two days per week in our London office.

What you’ll do

  • As our Senior Content Designer, you will be responsible for setting the standard for user experience content excellence, across our mobile and web apps.
  • User Experience Content Strategy & Ownership: Own all the text the user encounters while using the product itself, including labels, instructions, error messages, and empty states. All content must meet WCAG Accessibility standards.
  • Design Partnership: Work as a true partner with Product Designers, Product Managers, and User Researchers from the very start of the design process, involved in wireframing, user journey mapping, and information architecture.
  • Marketing Content partnership - You’ll also regularly collaborate with the marketing content team across Moneybox. You’ll champion the Moneybox brand, tone of voice and its carefully considered implementation.
  • Data-Driven Design: Analyse the performance and business impact of your work (e.g., conversion rates, engagement metrics) and proactively suggest and plan content-led improvements. You will be targeted on meeting delivery goals and metrics, such as increasing average product per user.
  • Scaling & Standards: Concept, deliver, and scale engaging user experiences. You will be a key contributor to our Content Design standards, systems, and processes. You’ll be responsible for writing and maintaining our User Experience Content guidelines.
  • Stakeholder Advocacy: Articulate and present your design decisions and learnings clearly to stakeholders at all levels. You will advocate for the inclusion of Content Design at every level and ensure key stakeholders are excited about its impact.
  • Champion AI-first content design: Exploring how tools and automation can enhance efficiency, quality, and experimentation.
  • Execution: Ensure all user experiences are release-ready, passing content and compliance checks, and delivering on our users’ needs.

What we’re looking for

  • Must Have:

  • At least one previous role within a product team, dedicated to creating and improving user-centric, data-driven digital experiences.

  • A portfolio demonstrating best-in-show examples of how you’ve used data and research to identify user needs and deliver high-quality user experiences through content.

  • Hands-on experience with A/B testing, iterative design processes, and experimentation in optimising user journeys and conversion rates.

  • A track record of building strong relationships with and exerting influence on senior stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Research, Legal, Marketing and Commercial.

  • Proficiency in design tools like Figma/Sketch and an understanding of how Content Design integrates with a design system and workflow.

  • A working knowledge of how content design sits in the context of a wider business, with comfort in pitching new ways of working and advocating for the function.

  • An ability to context switch, navigate ambiguity, balancing strategy and relationships across multiple cross-functional teams.

  • Nice to Have:

  • Experience working in a regulated Fintech environment.

  • Experience working with CMS.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced start-up environment.

  • Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI tools.

  • This probably isn’t for you if:

  • Your experience is mostly in marketing content, advertising, journalism or social media – and you have no hands-on experience of content design or working in UX.

Working Policy:

We have a hybrid policy that includes 2 days from our London office and 3 from home. If the role states it is either hybrid or remote candidates must be based within the UK.
