Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Research Data Analyst to support ongoing studies examining EEG activity and subjective experience. This role emphasizes rigorous preprocessing, quantitative analysis, and cross-condition comparison of multichannel EEG data, alongside integration with behavioral and self-report measures. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with raw EEG files and translating complex data into publication-ready outputs.
Estimated Time Commitment:
Approximately 10-20 hours per week on average (flexible based on project phase), with potential for expansion as studies progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Import, edit, and manage raw EEG datasets (including EDF format)
- Perform EEG preprocessing pipelines (e.g., filtering, artifact rejection, ICA/ocular correction, segmentation/epoching, re-referencing)
- Compute spectral power, relative power, band ratios, and coherence/connectivity metrics across conditions
- Conduct within-subject and between-condition statistical comparisons
- Support time-frequency and event-related analyses as needed (e.g., ERPs, band-specific changes)
- Integrate EEG metrics with self-report questionnaire and behavioral data
- Generate publication-quality figures (topographic maps, spectra, connectivity plots, summary graphs)
- Document analytic workflows for reproducibility
- Assist with statistical modeling and research reporting
Software & Technical Environment
Candidates should have working proficiency with some combination of:
MATLAB/EEGLAB and/or Python (MNE-Python preferred)
BrainVision Analyzer, NeuroGuide, BrainMaster or similar EEG platforms (helpful but not required)
R or Python for statistical analysis
EDF editing tools (e.g., EDFbrowser or equivalent)
Version control and reproducible workflows (preferred)
Background in neuroscience, psychology, biomedical engineering, data science, or related field
Demonstrated experience with EEG/qEEG signal processing
Strong understanding of EEG preprocessing and artifact management
Experience with statistical analysis of repeated-measures data
Strong attention to detail and documentation practices
